i once read in this forum about a guy that said in a post (not the topic, but still it was relative to what he was saying) that a group of guys that dont do drugs, smoke, drink alcohol or anything like that (i think they are called EXTREMISTS or something) adds "XXX[name]XXX" to differenciate from others...

For the most part, I assume it's for the same reason I put "-" around my name, which is because some other user had the name "Zen."

I can only assume that those who do not use "x"s for that reason find it cool for some reason.

AlphaOmega is an older nickname (6y/o now, using Zedd since 4y ago) that I use for forums.

The X in my name is... well, it's part of my name. To my knowledge, there are two other Lexodus's out there (somebody also ripped me by using 'Lexosus', which is just retarded). Every time I join a site, it's a battle between us to see who joined first and took the name first. If I lose, I use my other username, Ashazard. Between the two, I don't lose.
Really, being original isn't that hard. Superfluous 'X's are just lazy.
I also read leet as is, i.e L3xodus would be Lthreexodus.
