i at one point came across a guy called xXxsNiPeRhEaDsHoTxXx (on TF2)

he was banned the second he connected. why?

admin: player (icantbebotheredtotypethatoutagain) was banned. reason: "grow a pair and learn to type in ENGLISH you dyslexic noob"

It's not an xX_______Xx, but in L4D2 I saw a guy whose Steam name was "im so epic that i kill you". Luckily people shared my sentiment at seeing that name and my votekick was supported.

I jokingly switched my Steam name to XxSephiroth92xX just to piss off some of my friends (I swapped my avatar too so no one knew who it was)

It's mainly because names are already taken, and I don't understand the Xs or the AlT CaPiTaLs, the numbers are either random or their birth or graduation year.

Doesn't mean it doesn't annoy me to see them. The reason I did it was to see how many people booted me from their friends list and not realize I'm not there anymore. I was even on Skype with two of them. To hear their rage was worth it.

I changed my steam name to xXDarkNaruto69Xx for a while and spammed chat with NEKO KAWAIII DESU. If people think you're a 12 yo kid they're easier to catch off guard (dota)

It annoys me a little, because 9/10 times they're not even straight edge. Luckily, I avoid multiplayer, so it's not often a problem.

You kinda have to do that, because some fucker has ALWAYS already taken the name of famous characters.

Would it be perhaps too much to ask for people to be original, rather than everyone being a variation of a character?

Yeah it's basically people not having any creativity whatsoever or someone ninja'd it before they could get it. On another note I did see a person whose gamer tag was You. Makes you wonder how long he'd had the account to have a name like that.

I ran into a variation of "alucard" (complete with x's) just the other day in assassins creed multiplayer

They got me stuck in some kind of stun lock (alterating between smoke bombs and stunning me) so i quit pretty quick.
