No, this is not a thread about how Y2K was real. It's about anything that you can name that was better (or worse) before the turn of the century.

Disney was Better

I just can't wait to buy my promised flying car next year, 'tis all.
The only thing about Y2K I remember vividly, is all the cupcakes at the front of the auditorium spelling "2000". There was like three-hundred of them, and I had six. That was the best day of my younger years.

EDIT: Oh, to answer the question, I guess cupcakes were better before 2000.
