Hes put me off buying alot of games which is kind of good but Ive enjoyed games which Ive later watched his reviews for and I was like "I see your point I just dont care, I enjoy mindless violence in video games and will never get the same kind of satifaction I get from grabbing someone, climbing the tallest building and throwing them off! Repeat untill next game"*

*See Prototype/ any sandbox game were you are a villian or anti hero!

Like other people have pointed out, but perhaps not emphasised enough, the thing is that in an industry so infantile as this one, Yahtzee is absolutely crucial. Simple innovation that could have been seen a mile off, and has been suggested and worked towards for years, has a tendency to earn godlike praise among most game critics, a problem most more mature media, like film, doesn't have, because the good critic has learned the art of the craft and knows what to look for, and has learned many times the hard way not to get starstruck.

That's a quite fitting term actually, the video game community has a tendency of getting starstruck, and Yahtzee aims to be a constant counter-pole to that. Of course he's overly negative in his videos, it's a gimmick, so fuck those who can't hear anything off the internet without believing that the person uttering it is absolutely serious and then get butthurt over it, he plays the role of the cynic, and it's an important role when absolutely NO ONE wishes to play it.

I don't take any critiq to seriously or look what is the score these thing not influence me to buy the game.

I take a look at few reviews, look at showened gameplay, videos related to games and then buy or f*** it. Because reviewers are humans they can be bribed, they usualy like one types of games and usualy rate them higher then other games.

I take his comments in Extra Punctuation seriously. His reviews are more for entertainment. The flaws he points out are usually valid, but rarely as big an issue as he makes them out to be. But he has some great ideas regarding games as a storytelling art (aside from his whole, "unless a game takes full advantage of unique interactive storytelling techniques, the storytelling sucks" thing - that's stupid), and they usually come out in his Extra Punctuation articles more than the actual Zero Punctuation reviews.
