Ok.
I realise this will be a shock to some people.
I like Yahtzee...
Yes I think his critiques are funny and I watch every week when I can and catch up when I cant't.
My point is this, the cult following he has is a little scary and somewhat taking a bit too far.
This was really obvious while reading the GameDamage comments. People saying to get rid of Yug and Matt etc. Yes people would have clicked on it for Yahtzee but they don't seem to give any feedback. Just that it needs more Yahtzee! This annoys me.

To sum up. Yes, Yahtzee is cool but does he really deserve the fanboy juices?

Feel free to give constructive feedback, make comments, give rebuttals or just flame me for saying something bad about your god.

I have no idea. He's funny. But he's not to be taken seriously.

Taken seriously as a reviewer, he fails miserably.

Yeah , please provide the link!

Although I love me some daily Yahtzee and look forward to Wednesdays for the ZP videos I think it really depends on your taste and your resilience to constant swearing. :) The Irony is that Yahtzee hates fanboys and now he has them.

Imo he's gotten kind of boring, he's not even trying anymore, a while ago he deserved the fanboy juice but not anymore, now he's just overrated but still I always keep up with his

Yahtzee is a critic not a reviewer. If a game has flaws he points them out with big neon signs. He isn't trying to tell you what games to buy because if that were the case I would have to stay away from every game he talks about with a few exceptions.

To each their own. If five hundred people watch his video repeatedly and religiously, 500 people really like his stuff. If 10,000 people watch his videos religiously, then that's 10,00 people who like him. If 10,000 people like him but only one person fan boys about him... You get the idea...

To be honest I like the videos, but I'm not all fanboyish about him. He's just an interesting character to me

I've always (and probably will forever) regard Yahtzee as an entertainer first and reviewer last. That said, he's paying the price of small time internet celebrity status which comes with people on the internet wanting more face time with him.

I do know of Game Damage you are referring to, it's Yahtzee co-hosting a yet to picked up game talk show with his friends, Matt and Mug

Personal opinion: the show needs a lot of work..particularly with the host presentations

Anyway, since he is the most well known figure of the lot, he obviously gets the most attention. i.e- people will want to see him the most. Does he deserve it? You bet he does! It's his hard work that brought his own success, even if it means that he had to deal with a lot of geek/nerd attention. It may be unfair to the other two but this is the way with celebrity fame...

I stopped finding him funny a long time ago, partly because his fanbase annoys me, but mostly because he's become too self aware of the fact that he doesn't need to create quality work any more.

He ended up being like a drug, you keep chasing that first high, while the current high gets worse and worse.

Plus, the "What other reviewers are trustworthy other than Yahzee" just straight pissed me off. Those people must have like four games in their library.

Congratulations, you just summed up Zero Punctuation in 3 sentences.

It is basically yahtzee's job to make games sound worse than they are. Only difference between him and other game critics is he does it with genuine wit that other critics have mysteriously tried to develop scince the advent of ZP.

Not to say some games dont deserve it though.

Thanks to Kaboose for the video (and the nightmares, seriously that is a freaky gif) I assumed everyone knew about GameDamage because it has Yahtzee in it. Another thing that scares me is peoeple saying "Yahtzee does x" or "Yahtzee hates y" almost as if he can't talk for hiself and they are suddenly his best mate.

GameDamage is a Gaming TV show that he and his mates made a pilot episode of and it went nowhere...even though it was pretty funny and had massive potential.
