Yeah I have to admit I was baffled how I managed to avoid a warning and you got one for effectively complementing his joke. ;D
I think that maybe they were just looking for any reason to slap me down a notch, as I constantly point out the bad editing in their articles and then said unkind things about their star's writing abilities. Maybe not, though. Maybe that particular mod really is an imbecile.
Or maybe it's because you're just a dick.

Well it started badly. Some of the analogies were a bit off. You described a bustling, crowded street as a catwalk of armour clad monsters, or something like that. Well catwalks aren't very crowded, or bustling. They're usually very orderly and quiet. So that was a bit of an inconsistent image.

The prose is very strange in places. Not going to provide examples as I'm sure other have already. But around page 4, when the faulty exposition finally stops and the dialogue begins, it does become the classic, funny, recognizable Yahtzee prose that we all love.

One or two cliches made me flinch. I suppose it's too late to weed those out now.

Ah well, you're still young. Nobody expected you to score full marks on your first attempt. Even classic writers like Hunter Thompson wrote amateurism, unpublishable novels until their mid-30's.

By the end I was enjoying it, despite a few niggles that persisted to the end. Work on your exposition, keep at it, etc.

Well, it's not your story is it? In a game, you're supposed to be driving the story, but a book already has a main character. Really, First person perspective does help with the humour, and a book doesn't need the reader to become the main character.
Anyway, I will be keeping an eye out for this.
Perhaps I'm a just more of a fan of the omniscient third-person narrative, because I've always found first-person to be jarring in terms of immersion. Of course, it's not necessary for you to become the main character, but even if it helps you relate, it's going somewhere.

People still read books in this day and age??!!
Yes, you see, there is a thing called "intellectuality". Some people have it.

Also a thing called virginity....you have it
Damn all those book-readin', queer-o-sexuals to hells.

The day I learn to read is the day evolution is taught in my schools.

Hmm, yes, but then again; Yahtzee have said that he is inspired by Terry Pratchett.

Though I must admot that Jim seems a lot more snarkier than Rincewind. How much of a coward he is compared to Rincewind is yet to be seen. :p

Deffinatly not my cup of tea, It seems interesting but I think the big reason I can't read it it after the first couple of pages is his style of writing..

I read books with a high standard of writing, books that have been writen by authors with years of expirance in novel writing,

not saying yahtzee's book is bad or anything, it's just not as devoloped or defined, which is understandable for someone trying something new, If he continues, his writing skills will definatly improve.

right now when I read it it seems to me that he is using his "zero punctuation" voice (aka fast dialogue), which I don't think entirely works for a novel, it would be cool if it was an audio book though.
