In any case, it doesn't seem to matter anyway because apparently the OP has given up on this thread.

I hereby declare this thread dead... *trah-la-la*. I'm using a straw man to exemplify the stupidity of altering an already set in stone holiday (st. pat's being drinking yourself silly) to something all together annoying (you must wear green... hur-dur + the original). Why not just leave the original alone for its own sake if it is a holiday that can stand on its own merits.
