On a serious note, some poll years ago stated that something like 6000 to 7000 people disappear due to cannibalism in the United States (not sure how you find these kind of things out but whatever). This could most certainly be wrong, however assuming it's not, that is not a lot of people. I feel like pointing these kinds of things out is just kind of the "new thing" for the media.
