I am looking for a good movie about pirates (and not the pirates of the Caribbean). Anyone know of one (age rating not a concern). I have been searching long and hard for one.

If you don't mind animation, mythology, and Brad Pitt, I'd recommend Dreamwork's Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas. It has a decent story, and the majority of the motions are fluid (if that's a concern).

Isn't Master and Commander a pirate movie? Go with that, becuase I think your options are limited.

I don't think there are any pirates in that movie.

Muppet Treasure Island is always a good bet. The main character's pre-pubescent falsetto is rather amusing. And Tim Curry is in it! Definitely good.

This is quite a stretch but "Time Bandits" has time-traveling midget pirates in it, even though it's not really a pirate movie, good movie though.
