Yeah, yeah, ANOTHER Mass Effect 2 Thread...

Hello again, my fellow Escapists.

I come once more with questions and discussions for Mass Effect 2 (because I can't very well just stop thinking about it. O___O)

Alright, so we figured out all 10 members, but something is still perplexing me. From the chat with the ME2 team, it seems like there will be at LEAST 3 romance options for Shepard and FemShepard each. (the wording made it sound like she was being intentionally vague and that there could be more, perhaps.)

So far we know this, For Female Shepard, two love interests have been confirmed, Jacob Taylor and Thane Krios.

For Male Shepard, SuZe(Subject Zero) has been definitely confirmed by her video. And as for Miranda Lawson, I don't exactly know for sure, I've heard she might even be romantically tied to The Illusive Man, the head of the Cerberus organization. But then again, that might not mean anything at all.

And for the last option, I had at first thought Samara... Till I really thought about her. Samara seems like a darker, more badass version of... well.. Wynne, from Dragon Age: Origins. So I'm no longer sure about that at all.

I know many are holding out hope for a Tali Romance, which when brought up, was also left incredibly vague intentionally.

I have also heard things (that were neither confirmed nor denied, btw...) that Shepard may have the option of someone NOT in the party.

I've even heard that perhaps FemShepard might be able to romance Joker (now he's walking, btw.)

So, escapists, what do you think? Who will shepard have the opportunity to romance this time around?

Also, would you make an ME file without a love interest just to escape any repercussions of past nastification in ME2?

Female Romance -

The devs confirm that there are only 3 actual love interests, the rest are just flings

Anyway, on a more serious note. My guess is that it will be Samara for both Shepards. I doubt BioWare will drop out the option for girl on girl.

Of course it's always possible that Zero swings both ways.

I'm hoping for Tali as well. The more I thought about it, the less Samara seemed like a love interest at all, so i think there might be hope.

Still not sure at all about last male interest for femshepard.

EweweweweEWEWEW! Subject Zero is disgusting. "She" looks like a fucking Fallout 3 raider. Shep would be the girl in that relationship.
Anyway I really do think the 3rd options are going to be same sex. So maybe SuZe bats for both teams. Same with Thane. I do not know why but he reminds me of Zevran.

....How does Thane remind of you of Zevran...?

Actually, They have already said there will be no same sex options this time around. (However, she also went to say that Asari possess no seperate genders, so any relationship with one could not be considered heterosexual or homosexual.)

Also, I kinda have to agree with you on SuZe, that is one sack of crazy I wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole.

That's the way my main play through is. I find Ashley and Liara incredibly boring so I never pursued either of them.

I have a second Evil FemShepard play through where I banged Liara but, because it's an Evil play through, I'm not going to worry about staying faithful.

So far I haven't had any love interests in my ME1 file, so I guess I could just beat it without getting one.

These sound like pretty good choices for love interests for the second.

I guess so....but still.

Thane is philosophical, prays for his sins of killing, and doesn't seem too concerned about humping chains.

I gotta go with Cleril Here. Thane is described as "The Warrior Monk". If anything, he is polar opposite of Zevran. Even from his commercial vid he doesn't copy zevran at all. The only similarity they have is that they are both males, and both assassins. I cannot see much more.

Human/alien relationships are confirmed, so I assume male Shep has either Tali or Samara. Tali was "kinda" denied by a dev, so I think it's Samara.

Technically the asari are asexual just female looking the dev's also said "there were no female on female romances in me1" either so Samaras still an unlikley maybe, or the if the article was right potentially the DLC companion that old human merc.

Tali seems very unlikely because she has to wear the enviroment suit all the time. Unless they're going to think of a silly way to cure that.

Yes shes female looking as are all asari, they say it as much themselves they are transgendered again from Casey Hudon: "There were no female / female romances in ME1. Same with ME2."
