I know these threads are starting to become overdone, but the reason for this thread is that I'm planning a movie night with some friends and it's becoming harder to think of good movies to watch that most of us haven't seen yet.

Ideally I'm looking for "fun" movies (stuff like action and comedy, sombre movies don't really fit in with the party setting) and also non-foreign ones (personally I like foreign movies but my friends don't like subtitles).

You can suggest "so bad it's good" movies if you wish, but we're not going to focus on them.

Want to revisit the past? Try Speed again (or for the first time if you haven't seen it) or watch Aliens.

Something new? I'm kind of behind the times. I thought Predators was really nice but you've probably already seen it. May I recommend the movie "Unbreakable"?

I hope I helped.

I liked The Hard Way [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Hard_Way_%281991_film%29] and I recommend that.

Then there is Robin Hood: Men in Tights [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robin_Hood:_Men_in_Tights] which also has my endorsement.

Well starship troopers is a good choice. It's slow off the mark but it uses the time well to introduce the main characters and show how the relations between them develop. BUT DON"T GO NEAR THE SEQUELS!

For the fun type movies, a friend brought over Nacho Libre, with Jack Black and we had a tonne of laughs. It was something I normally wouldn't have thought of watching. Dumb and Dumber and Ace Ventura: Pet Detective are also oldies, but goodies.

'Snatch' & 'Lock Stock and 2 Smoking Barrels' are good films to watch with the lads, a good mix of Gangster themes and Cockney Comedy. Also just completely Bad Ass Movies stuff as 'Die Hard'. If you want something to be so bad its good, nothing fits that description better than 'Wrong Turn 2' Henry Rollins makes that film.
Hope i Helped.

Hands down, the most ridiculous, fun movie in existence.
After reading the bio on wikipedia, I have to say that I'm intrigued, although 90% of that intrigue came from the idea of Elvis played Bruce "hail to the king" Campbell

If Bruce playing an aging, possibly cancerous Elvis, who's only friend is a black JFK, who go on a warpath to destroy a Mummy who sucks souls of the elderly out of their assholes doesn't intrigue you, your obviously brain dead and should be buried as soon as possibly, because you've probably been sitting at that computer for a month or two like that.

Also, I thought Bruce did a fantastic job playing Elvis.

Big Trouble in Little China, so cheezy it's amazing.

Or, Google Troma Films and pick with a dartboard. With Troma you can't go wrong!
