Wow, Wolf's Rain is not a kids' anything.

Wolf's Rain is a deep, thoughtful, quiet, and sometimes bloody.. kind of character journey. I don't see why you should suffer any shame for it.

also, Kiba (not the Naruto character but the anime of the same name) is brilliant

Yep, I think Rain was one of JYB's first VA works, at least the first I heard of him, and people were wondering if he was up to it. Now he's practically everywhere.

Dude, The first five minutes of episode one has someone practically decapitated and ya think it's fer kids?

Ok just an update of this thread:

I now own the Appleseed collection and Sky Blue (which is pretty ace - very pretty most of the time, even if the supporting characters are a bit weird - thinking the short guy...really wanted to play Necromunda after watching it).

Are there any other futuristic/apocalyptic-y things like this?

Will probably get Ghost in the Shell if I can find it cheap enough, but I'm confused as to how it's ordered - there seem to be a lot of different DVDs for it available in the shops, some of which seem like re-makes?
