The song is called Souen Tenchu, from the end credits of the original Tenchu game on the PSX. Sorry, no links.

See, my funeral song would be harder, but this?

This is my first choice, easily.

Haha, you beat me to it. 1:40 on gives me the chills every time! This song can make anything feel as if you're on your way to adventure, even dying.

from the morning- Nick Drake

One short sleep past, we wake eternally,
And death shall be no more; Death, thou shalt die.

Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata.

What can I say, it's probably one of the finest pieces of music ever created and conveys a deep sense of sadness while also putting me completely at peace.

Ninja'd! I mean, thank you for posting that.

I'd definitely want to go out hearing the Moonlight Sonata (it will probably play in my mind when the time comes anyway, no matter the situation).

Definitely the last song I'd want to hear. All I know is I'm having this played at my funeral.

"A star just fell from the sky!"

"That is not an ordinary star, my son. That star is the tear of a warrior."

"What warrior is it?"

"A lost soul who has finished his battles somewhere on this planet. A pitiful soul who could not find his way to the lofty realm where the great spirit awaits us all."

We're all dying, slowly succumbing to the inescapable grasping hand of entropy.

That said Burial by Miike Snow.

Blade Runner Blues by Vangelis. That's my theme when I'm dying (or dead however it's supposed to go).

"Death is not a hunter unbeknownst to its prey; one is always aware that it lies in wait. Though life is merely a journey to the grave, it must not be undertaken without hope. Only then will a traveler's story live on, cherished by those who bid him farewell."

There's someone I love very much, and the thought of being taken from her hurts more than the thought of dying itself.

I am so glad to see several people listing Doctor Who as the last music they wanted to hear. Season 5 had a supurb soundtrack to it that always gets me going. Also, "Always look on the Bright Side of Life" was an exselent choice that sould have been the first song to come into my mind. =)

I would like to hear one of two songs one my way out, both of which were writen by Enter the Haggis (look them up if you don't know them, you may very well be plesantly suprised): "One Last Drink" or "Down with the Ship." The former is about an old man on his death bed who decides not to go out quietly, but rather with a huge party among all of his friends.

The latter is a song about standing by those close to you no matter what happens, and the mutual strength gained therin. Both are good songs on their own and thematicaly appropriate.

We are all dying. Every single day of our lives we are only traveling closer to death.

This is still the only thing in existence that can truly touch my soul.

I know it has already been posted, but such a thing cannot heard enough times.
