Everywhere you look there's contests, lotteries, raffles, etc. and I frequently find myself wondering who actually wins these things. I generally have terrible luck with anything, well, luck related so I know that it's very rarely me.

What's some cool stuff that you've won?

The starting point for me making this topic? I actually won something fairly cool today in a radio call in contest. It was a pass for two people to see a rock festival this coming weekend where I live (main day headliners are Our Lady Peace and Stone Temple Pilots w00t).

(Heh.. and my capcha for posting this topic: in the bag)

I won a bike when I was a kid, can't remember anything else. After studying statistics I never try my luck on lotteries and the like.

I once won a 9-foot high basketball hoop from a 6 pack of seven up.

but I didn't have a yard big enough for it for another 2 years.

I have won a few skill based competitions. I also have the oddest luck with scratch off tickets. I seem to consistently win $20-$50, but never anything to write home about.

I honestly came in to this thread thinking it would be related to Big Rigs: Over the Road Racing. Then I was disappointed.

OT: I've never won anything, but I've never really tried to enter any contests or the like before.

I've won some games... not like winning free games, just like beating them. Does that count?

I won $9 off some friends in a game of texas hold 'em.

Although the important part of that game was not losing rather than winning, as the loser was forced to do one dare.
