Being a bit of a .Hack fanatic i'd probably go with .Hack//Roots.

It takes place in a video game so i'd probably just be some dude who plays the game, and I wouldn't really do anything aside from hang out in one of the Lost Grounds the entire time really.

Durarara, because there's interesting stuff always going on yet still grounded in enough reality to where the avg life expectancy is the same as the real world (as long as I don't piss off shizuo which shouldn't be too hard he's hot headed but only violent towards those who throw first punch, look at him wrong, says bullshit, or has the name Izaya Orihara)

Not Attack on Titan. VERY not Attack on Titan. I do not want to be eaten by a gigantic mockery of a human.

I've only watched a few episodes so far, so I might come across something that makes me change my mind later, but the world of Space Dandy seems pretty alright.

This choice might seem "out there," but, after thinking about it, other than Pokemon (which, frankly, because of how stupid the anime is, might end up being a bad choice), the only choice that seemed alluring to me was Angel Beats.

At worst, it's just my same old normal life, and then I die, and pass on. At best, I die early, and get to live in a freaking awesome fantasy world for a time, before passing on. I wouldn't mind having temporary immortality, joining the Afterlife Battlefront, and having fun shenanigans.

Edit: FUCK I forgot to mention this, which is also a perfect(ly solemn) answer:

Second the vote for FMA. I'm about the graduate with a bachelor degree in Chemistry which would give me a nice little head start on learning to become an alchemist. All the intrigue of chemistry research and I can magically summon items? Sign me up please.

I suppose the Dragonball universe would be alright, if only because I could train my ass off and become powerful enough to kick Superman's ass 10 times over with a couple decades work, especially if I got my hands on a gravity chamber. I wouldn't have to worry about dying much since I'd just get resurrected by the Dragonballs along with a bunch of other people anyway, and that's assuming I didn't wish for immortality before that happened.

Joke answer: high school of the dead, because I hate people and want an excuse to blow their heads off with my somewhat extensive arsenal.

Real answer: Cowboy Bebop, with terraforming, enough convenience and medical technology that a person at my station in society could be far better off than I am right now... without the problems of messy interplanetary wars that most sci-fi series have.

Problem: you'd still be human. The best a human can be is... Krillin [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=arWrepjo3pg]. About as powerful as a well-trained saiyan toddler.

Hmmmm... I can only think of a few that I wouldn't mind being a part of:

Bobobo - Hair or not, I can still look fly for a dude that looks both out of place and in place in this world...
Pokemon - Easy way to make friends in this world...
Haganai - Hard[er] way of making friends, I feel...
Samurai Champloo - Don't know if I should try to take up the sword or not before I can't, at this point in time...
Digimon - Specifically, the era of Tamers...
Shin-Chan - Specifically, Funimation's "abridged" version...
FullMetal Alchemist - I may not be German, per se, but at least alchemy exist in this world...

Yeah... Given the circumstances, I don't think that much would change unless I end up in a particular situation as the characters from any of the anime worlds I've chosen...

Gah so many choices....One Piece since it's my favorite right now and I might get a Devil Fruit, Pokemon because Pokemon, SAO because I'd get to live my favorite kind of video game, FMA because alchemy, Fairy Tail because magic

Can I combine them? An MMO world where my guild of pirates goes around collecting an army of Pokemon, my skills and powers level up, I find weapons and armor that increase my numbers and I stumble upon a Devil Fruit that gives me the power of magical alchemy

Though if forced to truly pick only one I guess I'll go with One Piece

I really think the Pokemon idea is the ticket, the world isn't particularly dangerous. All you'd need to do is stay in areas until you had level up your Pokemon far too much and move on. Repeat and you'd be a Pokemaster easily. And anyone in the world could do it!

For the most part, probably that of Aqua...

It's so chilled out and no-one's a jerk, I can just do my own thing... hobbying, crafting etc., and not worry about my own welfare. And it's Venice, without any of the architectural issues... what's not to love?! I'd like to own a cat as well...
Possibly the safest yet still fun option around. You can just be an undine: work as a glorified oarswoman, meet quirky and nice characters, befriend intelligent cats, and the best scenery is by the sea. In the same vein, there's also the world from Haibane Renmei, which, if you're a nameless haibane, could possibly be a brief but profound experience.

and honestly, it'd be a huge bonus if the OSTs were playing in-universe...

For something more action-y: FMA would be nice, 'cuz of the alchemy deal, but the kill-rate for background characters is too high. Pokemon is a rightfully popular choice though, so I'll go with that.

NOBODY has said the two I'm gonna throw in? Really? Ok, here goes...

Code Geass. Why? Freaking Knightmare Frames. That is all.
Option #2: Sword Art Online. Enjoyed the anime a lot, and I like the universe. Aincrad just has a huge level of interest to me, so, experiencing it sounds like a blast~

Pokemon, without a doubt. Not being the main character is more of a privilege than a deterrent. I could actually win a league, evolve my Pokemon, and unlike Ash, actually age. Not aging would have its benefits, but staying 10 forever would get lame sooner or later.

I know people will bring up "Pokemon would be scary to be with and humans would be killed by Pokemon all the time!" If we are going by the show, Pokemon are rarely dangerous to humans, and usually they only attack to harm if they feel threatened.

Probably won't need it to be honest. The power of friendship defies death and danger in that universe, at least I assume so. >.>

2 for YuGiOh. I always thought that if a card game were ever actually produced with working detailed holograms it would sell like hotcakes regardless. If they ever did that with Magic the Gathering...

Sure there is the occasional supernatural entity trying to eat everyone's souls or destroy the world or brainwash everyone, but if your 4th rule holds true we know things will be okay in the end thanks to the hero. Or we could just strap on a duel disk and end the threat ourselves since all the heroes are terrible players who rely on insane luck to win.
I completely agree on that, and hey, be fun to see a senate meeting or a UN meeting because all the problem would be solved with a childrens card game LOL

Well it is a 4Kids dub...and the power of friendship trumps a lot...eh I suppose, but you can't be the one to stop an evil team (just a couple of grunts at most)
