You mean I can use the most uncomfortable to hold device of all time to play a game? ...yay...
Uhh what? I have no problem holding my DS Lite or 3DS XL. It's not as comfy as the PSP (until you plug in a charge cable), but it's way ahead of the Vita (because of the rear touch pad) and the only time it was uncomfortable to play was when i played Metroid Prime Hunters and Kid Icarus. You must be doing something wrong maybe?...
The original DS variants were a lot better then the 3DS in terms of how comfortable it was. Its mainly because that circle pad is worthlessly awful. Even minor use of it causes me to hurt my hands after about 5 minutes. Also because the shoulder buttons are WAY too small, meaning you have to shrink your pointing fingers up and loosen your grip on the device, which is not an issue present on the DS Lite. Finally, the buttons are shockingly low quality compared to the DS Lite, and its extremely apparent. Its like every button is as bad as the start and select buttons on the DS Lite, except for hilariously, the home select and start buttons, which are extremely poorly placed and have the responsive feeling of solid stone.

Still a lot better in most games then Kid Icarus tho. God that game had awful controls. Even the "Face buttons as camera" mode had better controls then its intentional controls.
I think the Circle Pad does what it's intended to do. It never hurt my hands, it's still better, than the PSP's Circle Pad. I don't feel much of a difference between the DSes and 3DSes face buttons, it feels the same for me. Except, the 3DS has vastly superior d-pad. I like the clicking sound it makes. The DS Lite's shoulder button was awful... It feels cheap, it's unresponsive and dem famous broken L buttons...Can't really protect them.

Hmm, i got used to Kid Icarus' control scheme. Yes, it hurts my hand, but, if you start playing on 9 intensity, there are not really an option what to use. You NEED the speed and precision of the touch controls or you don't stand a chance. Now, if Nintendo would finally forget resistive touch screen and move onto the 21st century and use capacitive touch screen, Kid Icarus would have a vastly superior control scheme, but using your finger on these poor touch screen is a nightmare... btw, the New 3DS still uses resistive touch screen?... i hope not.
