So, after surfing around, I found this.

It's safe to say that it's the most mind-bending terror I've experienced all week. Anyone want to top that?

I'm looking for creepy/weird mindscrews. Not the loud, obnoxious, endurance test ones.

Is it supposed to be a red swirl with a vague bird-like head in the center? I don't get it. Maybe it becomes awesome after a couple of minutes.

Well I watched it until the music looped. That's about as much time as I give these things.

Ummm...some mildly creepy sounding ambient? Is that it or have I missed something?

Holy shit, so few people understand.

In the SNES game "Earthbound" (which was epic), the final boss is fought with a background of this:

being waved around at random:

So there you go.

OT: That wasn't especially disturbing to me. I won't post MINE though. It just might kill you.

Wow, if that ytmnd freaked you out, don't dare go to SCP Foundation or gurochan.net/f/ and look at some of their "artistic" threads... there's stuff on there that'll make you puke out your own eyes.
(Hell, some of it even freaks me out, particularly the stuff by obviously deranged east european artists who have some kind of hotline to the brain's terror centres, and I've been a denizen of the internets for more than half my life... like about '94)

Or the holders series for that matter. Alone in the house on a dark night after too much rich food.

Wow, a lot of people just don't recognize Giygas anymore.
I know. It even mentions Giygas directly in the address, you'd think more people would at least recognise the name, even if they couldn't immediately understand the image. I get that most people wouldn't have played Earthbound, but still...

...I love that background.

Giygas is so out of place in Earthbound, but eegh he's even more unnerving because of it.

A swirly picture and heavy breathing doesn't make something creepy. But I guess the beeping did it for you?
I think that it's what Giygas -is- that's creepy/horrible - and if you don't know that, then it doesn't really mean anything. :)

Basically, Giygas is evil itself - once had a physical form, but as it grew more powerful, it lost its shape, and finally its mind. Now it's just a dimension of evil that only exists to destroy everything. Not only that, but the picture lets it down a bit. Giygas is a twisted, red, screaming face, and as you destroy it, it says stuff like...

"It hurts, Ness?"
"?I?m h?a?p?p?y?"
"?friends?"
"Ness, Ness, Ness, Ness, Ness, Ness, Ness, Ness, Ness, Ness, Ness,
Ness, Ness, Ness, Ness, Ness, Ness, Ness, Ness, Ness, Ness, Ness, Ness,
Ness?"
"I feel? g? o? o? d?"
"?I?m so sad?"

Also, the inspiration for Giygas "came from a traumatic childhood experience where he accidentally walked into an adult movie theater and caught a glimpse of a rape scene in the 1957 film "The Military Policeman and the Dismembered Beauty""

So the whole fight is pretty creepy. But if you don't know that, then yeah, it's just slightly odd music and red gas, hehe.

Meh, watched enough of that video to the critical point, it may scare some kids but it seemed pretty tame to me. A red skull/ghost-ish thing wibbling around with early 90s sine effects. Kind of like a colourised Ghostbusters logo trapped in an Amiga megademo. For something more frightening of the era, try the nuke scene from T2.
Oh and recognised the name but couldn't figure out why. Never really played more than the first few minutes of Earthbound. Not my cup of lifenoodles.
