ignoring for the time being, EA's numerous other atrocities to gaming kind, I would like to know exactly which of their corporate twits decided it would be a particularly good idea to buy up the system shock IP and proceed to condemn it to forever reside in the 7th plane of hell? Who wouldn't want a System Shock 3!

Crap! I never got to play SS1 or 2, because I am running XP, but I've always wanted to. Sucks that I won't play it. After hearing all the crap about EA's DRM scheme "Fuck the Customers" policy, I've been avoiding anything they put out.

You can play SS2 on XP (patch needed and propably you can SS1 (with DOSbox or VDMSouund but i never tried it that way).

Creators of SS1 and SS2 propaly (or rather producer of those games). As far as i know both games sell in very few copies and company bearly earned any money from them (Deus Ex didnt sell good either).
Luckly there was Bioshock (which is like Halo meets SystemShock) which sell well, so theres a chance for that genre.

Deus Ex didn't sell well? Wow. I never really looked much up about it but I had always assumed that it raked in quite a few dollars. Sort of a "How would such an awesome game not sell?" type of thing, I guess.
