You ever liked a game that Yahtzee didn't?

I have disagreed with Yahtzee on many occasions (I would also consider him my nemesis if I actually knew the guy on speaking terms, not the 'I will kill you every time we meet' kind of nemesis, I mean the 'I disagree with what you say but I defend to the death you're right to say it' kind).

Seriously though, a lot of the stuff he has made is good and he makes pretty good observations in ZP but he's still just a gamer like the rest of us, and like the rest of us he can still be totally wrong on occasion.

As far as I'm concerned, Yahtzee is an entertainer first and a critic second. I don't watch ZP expecting reliable games journalism; I watch it for a laugh. If I'm thinking about whether or not I should buy a game, I never take Yahtzee's word for it: I'll go to a reviewer whose opinion I actually trust.

However if you are asking which ones, I'd have to say Oblivion first and foremost.
Likewise. Oblivion's far from perfect, and a lot of the problems he raised with it were accurate, but it's still a great game despite those flaws. If you want to play a good RPG, you could do much worse than Oblivion.

alot actually, and yahtzee just takes the piss out of every game he sees in short. there is about 5 or 6 games he likes in his reviews and thats it! also he only does it for the sake of comedy so dont take any of it seriously or you may as well be a sheep

Scribblenauts. I loved the puzzles, I found them frustrating, and the action levels were fun, and the Playground (Start menu) is awesome. I still find ways to entertain myself in the game. Maybe it's creativity for idiots, it really is, but I like it.

Absolutely. He hates on just about every game, and I like just about every game. I enjoyed Dead Space for instance and he tore that game apart.

The Final Fantasy series. Given I consider gaming to be a form of art, I don't mind looking an beautiful cinematics and being immersed in an interesting story. That said, my favourite FF was IX, whose story was... not its strongest point. So maybe I'm talking out my hat.

I stopped watching his videos recently. It got a bit dull to be honest! These forums are much more interesting. I like most games he reviews as terrible.

I liked Overlord and Overlord II, but still found his review funny, I've already stated once I never take Yahtzee serious.

The Conduit, and his review kind of sucked in places, but he made a few valid points. I mean, what was he thinking complaining about the controls when you can completely customise them?

All jRPGs, Halo, RTSs (though not Halo Wars, that he got right). I watch him because on the whole I agree with him, not because I think everything he says is descended from the highest plains.

JRPG's in general.

Smash Bros, GTA IV, and ...

That's all I can think of. HOnestly I haven't been playing that many games.

Oh absolutely I've liked games that he doesn't. The World Ends with You is my favorite DS game, I enjoyed Mass Effect a great deal and I liked Valkyria Chronicles. Yahtzee is just a funny guy who has some insightful opinions, sometimes. He isn't the sole voice of reason and taste. I watch his reviews to be entertained, and generally I find him to be funny but that's all. I don't take his recommendations all that seriously, and I have HATED some of the games that he has liked (most notably, pain killer, a mindless shoot-em-up fest that looks ugly as hell, at least to me).

He's a critic, a comedian, and a witty guy. But his taste is not the final word on ANYTHING, and if you let him decide what is good or bad for you, then you're the type of person who would let him run your life as well. Play the games yourself. If you enjoy them, good. If you don't, then that's your call. If you disagree with Yahtzee, well - DISAGREE WITH HIM! He's just a guy after all.
