I wouldn't use it unless I thought that a person will cause world war 3. For example if I could kill Hitler before world war 2.

But apart from that I would A try and destroy it as long as nothing bad happens to me because I destroy it.

and B if I couldn't destroy it I would put it in a massive safe and dump it in the sea

By the way - didn't Ryuk eventually tell Light that the reason a human who uses a death note can't go to heaven or hell is because they don't exist?

As for me, I'd use it on people who keep me disgusted for longer than a month straight - in my entire life I can think of maybe a dozen. Killing criminals has been done throughout history and has never stopped criminal behavior because, like WhiteFangofWar said above, they're the symptom rather than the problem - it's like trying to cure someone's cold by gluing their nostrils shut.

I wouldn't use it due to the fact that I couldn't go to heaven or hell but I would flash it around and nobody would have to know I have never used it. But if I had to use it, I would use it to get the shinigami's eyes. I could see anyone's name and time/place of death. Would make for an interesting introductions to people I don't know.

I have a Death Note.
If it was real, like most people I'd imagine, I'd at leats test it to make sure.
Then I'd probably turn into a more amateurish Kira that would be caught easily.

Would you tell anyone? Seriously, as long as you don't, you know, ever imply anything about the fact that you are killing people, no-one would ever know to even look.

Anyway, a lot of people would die. I always say that, but seriousl, nowadays it would be so much worse. A lot fo politicians from many, many countries would die some of the most painful horrifying deaths possible. Seriously, the pain inflicted on them would be the very worst someone like me could come up with, and I come up with horrifying things all the bloody time.

I would also use it to give peaceful, painless deaths to those I care about if they were dieing painful deaths from things like cancer.

I might even test some loopholes. For example, what if you write your own death in the Death Note, but write it in such a way that you'll live, unaging, for, say, 500 years? Just write "At the Age of 500, *Name Here* shall die painlessly in his sleep after having not aged past the body of a 30 year old." There, boom, instant elongated life and young body to use until than.

Hell, if you can find a second one, you can write your name in that one to neutralize the first, and do this in an eternal loop, elongating your life until you feel it's time for you to die.

I got bullied to the point where i had to go to therapy back a few years ago, an i vowed if i got a chance i would kill who did it too me.
I would test the DeathNote first then go back on my promise.
