I think I heard that from a Russel Howard stand up show or at least something like it.
I don't think I could just give up on them.
Only problem is my only knowledge on the entire topic come from TV and other media. Never actually met depressed person. Not sure if I can rely on that in a crisis.

give them the number for any suicide hotline, inform them that if they have a computer then next time use google to find this info, thank them for calling and hang up.
not my responsibility, and if I were forced to deal with them I would tell them to go ahead and pull the proverbial trigger or stop wasting everyone's time with the pathetic cry for attention. Either you're going to do it or you aren't, and if you're seeking help honestly you can call a psych who is actually willing to listen and help not to mention qualified.

wouldn't be the first time i talked someone out of suicide, would try to help them. maybe come over if they are close. even if troll even if the chance is one in a million that you actually saved a life. i would do it
