You are NOT the hero you normally play as. You find yourself dressed in a standard dressing of the people in the game, with just enough money to get you started in just about anywhere.

What would you do? You cannot be nor go on the adventure with the protagonist.

Join up with the local Guild of Mages and become a Wiiiizard! And aspire to be...well, not the greatest wizard of Tamriel, cause I dont want to be too important, but you bet I want me some of that magicka!

Oh god. My favourite game is Deux Ex Human Revolution. I'm seriously screwed if I'm a generic NPC in that world. It's probably more fucked up than the real world. ;_;

Battle through the gym leaders, make my way to the Pokemon League and become champion.

Then travel to the other regions and do the same.

ugh, of all days to be uncertain of my favorite game. DX

if I'm lucky it'll lean toward something like the atelier games or other idyllic JRPGs, in which case I'm fine being an NPC... I'll lead a life similar to the one I'm living now, except with better aesthetics.

If I'm unlucky it'll lean toward something like the main line SMT games... in which case I'll probably be eaten by something or another by nightfall.

Eh, guess either way my problems will resolve somewhat quickly.

Considering .hack takes place inside an MMORPG, that still leaves tons of fun adventures open. Yeah, I'd dig it.
Level grind, play some events, normal stuff. I'd probably play a Wavemaster if it's R:1, or a Macabre Dancer if it's R:2.

My favorite game is Homeworld. I don't even know what an average person in Homeworld looks like, apart from being basically human.

If I go with my runner up, Skyrim, I guess? So, I'd probably try to become a smith's apprentice. I've always wanted to be a blacksmith, in real life, so I could live with that.

Unreal Tournament. Annddddd I get to either live quietly in a very dystopian city or get mutilated multiple times by hardened combat vets and psychos in a contest before I inevitably lose and die permanently. MEH.

Second up is Halo 3. Once again, boring city. Except this time it's probably war-torn. Wheeeeee!

Third up is Elder Scrolls and holy hell, this is so much worse! Now I could get my soul trapped in soul gems if someone was feeling malicious enough. D: And when I'm spent I'll get shipped off to the soul gem realm to rot into nonexiste- FUCK. THAT. SHIT.

I could go on but this is getting depressingly repetitive.

I would probably train to be either an Argonian blade master or Khajiit archer and join the Companions guild in order to keep some peace in the countryside where bandits would see to the average adventurer, an arrow in their knee.

Joke's on you, I've never bothered fulfilling the Nerevarine prophesy, so it would just be another Morrowind run for me.

I'd probably take up residence in Pelagiad, near the banks of Lake Amaya. It's fairly close to points of interest like Vivec, Ebonheart and Balmora while avoiding the stench of the Bitter Coast and the choking hellscape of the Ashlands. I could try my hand at potionmaking or perhaps hunting for a living; Nix-hound meat is probably good eatin'. Who knows, with enough experience and the right people I could start an underground railroad to help runaway Kajit and Argonian slaves escape their former masters.

I would just pray to everything that is holy that James Bond doesn't come along and shoot me in the head while I'm taking a dump in the toilets...

I have a lot favourite games I can choose, but I guess I will choose the safest world: Cuphead.
Even if you die, which it seems very damn difficult in a cartoon world, I would become a jolly happy dancing ghost!

I'd tell the hero that I had been robbed for a value equal to a generous fortune, and ask him to go find my sacks of gold. Then I'd give him a badly voice-acted thank you to maintain the disguise and retire.

Well I guess I'm living in Spira now then. If it's pre Sin, this is not ideal as I may end up getting attacked by a giant gravity whale any time, not to mention all the fiends running around and the oppressive religious zealots. If it's post Sin it's mildly better; there's still a bunch of factions vying for power and the fiends still exist, but at least death isn't a near certainty. Either way the climate is warm and I'd probably go and join the Al Bhed, offer them my scientific knowledge and technical skills and, if it is indeed post Sin, find and marry Rikku (you said we can't go on the adventure with the protag, but if the adventure from the games is over then it's fair right?).

"Welcome to the Zone. You best leave your old life behind because there is no going back now.
The laws of the outside world do not apply here, neither do the laws of nature as you know them. The very ground you walk upon may well open under your feet and swallow you whole. Present an opening and even your fellow man will be at your throat, not to mention the wildlife that would love nothing more than to add some variety to their meals.
Pretty much the only two things you can trust here are yourself and your weapon but even that might just let you down when you least expect it.
Best of luck to you young pup and remember, every step you take could be your last."

I hear it's nice this time of year and hunting wildlife can be somewhat profitable.

Well, right now it would be a cross between Warhammer Fantasy or Pokemon.

Well, jumping straight to being a Pokemon trainer because I'm staying as far as possible from living in a Warhammer verse!
Give me my Arcanine!

Even if I pick the most NPC friendly world, it still sounds like it would be some sort of fresh stealth hell scenario where free will is stripped bear and escape even by means of death is impossible. All while the whims of your entire existence are placed upon an unknown human being of unknown motivation who can just mess around with whatever data they wish, or turn it all off, destroying everything in a fit of unknown rage. No aging, no progress, growth or surprises...merely an eternal stagnant state designed to pleasure whoever happens to be piloting the 'chosen one' for whatever nefarious means.
Nah, probably give it a miss to be honest. Reality may be messed up, but at least it affords the luxury of suicide when the feeling of being trapped gets a little too intense.

I require clarification. This is Persona 5. Am I able to summon a Persona while still being independent from the plot characters?
