Hmm. If I had to get one, I suppose I'd go the full shebang and get a back piece. Because they just look cool.
What I'd get? No bloody clue. I'd be tempted to throw in a bunch of logos from games I like, such as a triforce and the grey warden symbol etc.. but I think that'd look bad. So I'd probably get some sort of generic but aesthetically appealing design so it doesn't look like I have gaming logo ADD.

I'm actually getting a tattoo this year. But I'm not going to tell you what it is. I want to be sure I'm the only one.
It's definitely not tribal, barb wire, barcode, dragon, skull, a chinese/japanese sign or anything "just cool". bleh.

A banshee on my back. Or, failing that, fall into the family tradition of Norse mythology tattoos and get Jormungand snaking around my torso.

I would get my tattoo, tattooed on my tattoo. Seriously, it needs touching up and that would certainly do the trick.
If I would have to get a gamer one, I would kill you 'cos there not my thing. Personally, I think they make you look like the biggest fanboy/girl to grace the face of there earth, which is never a good look.
It is also like the top gear thing, if you into a formal shin dig and people see your tattoo, you will be able to see a large no mans land appear between you and the nearest people.
Granted most people will think my tattoo makes me look like a tool and I am ok with that. (I have a full sleeve tribal tattoo).

I'd probably get a... hmmm I'm not sure. If I had to I'd get "This too shall pass." on my forearm but I don't want a tatoo IRL
