I'll leave it to you to imagine the details.
A hypothetical: Suppose the world is suffering an inundation of some sentient swarm. Civilization is buckling under the damage done by this invasion; things are looking bleak.
But then you - yes, you - stumble across something, some means of destroying the invaders which no one else knows about. You use it, the civilized world is saved, and without ever knowing how you did it people the world over laud you as a hero. For a long time, life is good.
Then, with advanced age comes trouble. Reincarnation is typical of lifeforms, but usually only of note when the lifeform being reincarnated has some measure of sentience - and even then, the odds of the old consciousness surviving are low.
Of course, as you may recall, your old enemies were not only sentient, but extremely numerous. Thanks to the numbers, the chances of one of these enemies reincarnating with intact memories are uncomfortably high.
They haven't struck yet, but you can feel their hatred glistening in the eyes of the new generation as they pass you on the street, knock at your door to give cheap offers.
How do you know this? Why, through the very means you used to defeat the menace in the first place.
They prepare to strike again, you know. Your means suggests it would be best not to wait...
Now, tell me. I've given you the frame, but what are the specifics of the story? How did you make it this far? What are the enemies? WHO is the enemy? And most importantly, what do you do next?
