We all have those moments were you go "Yup, I'm a gamer" like I had just now.

You know you're a gamer when a guy walks by with a the California flag on his shirt and you double check to see if the bear has two heads or not.

What moments like that have you had?

... you play video games!

Oh, wait, that's the boring answer.

And then the stuffy answer is that I don't associate myself with the "gamer" label because I don't like the connotations that come along with it.

What?

Fine, I'll stop being a killjoy.

When you've spent four hours reading Wiki pages on various franchises you love -- When you could've been spending that time playing them instead.

When you see buildings tightly-knit together and start picturing yourself parkouring your way to the top so you can run on the rooftops.

When you hear the word "plumber", your first thought is of an Italian guy who is really closely linked to sentient mushrooms.

When the acronym for World of Warcraft has become more ubiquitous in your vocabulary than the actual word "wow".

My best friend and I collect bottlecaps to get a head start on our post-apocalyptic fortune.

Sometimes guests ask why I steal all the bottlecaps from their drinks- the years have taught me that answering with "for future currency" doesn't usually make sense.

When you realise you've posted nearly 10,000 times on an internet gaming forum. Without user groups or forum games.

When you want to leave your work shift as soon as possible to get back to your game. I'm like that on every Sunday (the only day that I worked full work hours).

You see America's refusal to go to war with Syria as obviously natural; The American civ just hit 100% War Weariness.

When you think planes in the sky are cursors and live in constant fear of the day one clicks on you and assigns you to chop wood for the rest of your life.

Actually you might have bigger problems to worry about than just being a "gamer" when you start thinking like that...

Yes on the plumber thing, triple yes on the Wiki thing.

When you prefer gaming related shows online as opposed to watching television of any kind.

Finding ways to put gaming into your school work, for my business classes, I always make my projects about the games industry.

Whenever I'm watching a tv show or movie and someone doesn't loot the body, I get upset. You're going to fight someone, take the damn guns the dead guys don't need anymore! You forgo machine guns for your handgun? Uh...

Loot the body!

Posting in a user group doesn't add to your post count. :x Unless you mean user group themed threads.

You know you're a gamer when you join user groups formed around one specific game and keep your eye out for even the smallest trickle of news for your favorite franchises.

no matter how much puny things you throw in this thread to identify yourself as a gamer.
the only way you will become one is if you have the mark.
Is that where that's fucking from. I wondered why this discoloring wasn't going away.

I've got one on both hands, high fives.

Yes it does.

I have not posted 12000 times on these forums, I'll tell you that.

When you decide you want to work in the industry. Well, at least that's just for myself...

You know you're a true gamer when you don't believe in cake anymore. You know, because it's a lie...

When you want games to try and experiment and have developers be free to make their own creative choices, and then when said games are not exactly the way you wanted them to be you waste your time posting death threats to the developers site, chastise them for trying to deviate from what a game is supposed to be, and tell them they are pretentious fucks for trying to be special.

I'm just tried of gamers demanding more creativity then attacking developers when they try to do something different.

You know you're a gamer when you are so insecure about the definition of the word "gamer" that you have to find countless reasons why you are one and people who play "lesser games" aren't.
