We didn't really need a thread for this picture. If you were charge that for a cheese burger then yes it is was but if you ordered a normal burger and then paid the extra that is fine. Seriously, stop using the word entitled it has lost all meaning and it has become as bad as the people whining too much. If people want to complain they can it what a forum is for.

There are legitimate and less legitimate for the hate on Mass Effect 3 in general and on this DLC. I am of more or less the same general opinion on this as Total Biscuit. I will not buy this DLC as I do not like it and do not accept it as a normal thing. I have no problem with DLC being made and regardless of how little this character actually affects the game it is canon wise important. A living Prothean is a big deal regardless. Anyway as said before this could have just been just like the ME 2 DLC but it isn't. That is a different thing.

I also disagree with stuff like Assassin's Creed 2 DLC.

Anyway in short this is not something I accept as acceptable for a preorder collectors edition bonus. I will not be contributing to it and I will talk about it wherever I please as long it is within the rules of the site or area I am in and I will be voting with my wallet on this and other issues eg MW2.

If that makes me ridiculous, well, I don't actually care. Always nice to have an opposing to reassess my own though.

Do you want the threads about Day One Dlc or the ones about the ending?

It's actually already too late. There was a thread the other day about a Chinese man . . . doing some rather crazy and unsavory things to his son, and one of the first comments (which appears to have been deleted now) was about how terrible Mass Effect 3's ending was.

To think the whole thing could have been avoided if they gave you your cheese a week later. But no they had to offer it after you ordered the burger. They know people don't like it when it is presented that way. Day one cheese is a bad marketing strategy, too much hate.

Go with Wendy's they give you the cheese the next day, so you know they worked extra hard on it.

PS why did they show Jacks head I mean Jack in the box was all about the mystery man...now it is gone.

Day one DLC is a developer working overtime. Do you deny that?
If they want to work overtime, that's fine. They should be spending the time between certification and launch to hunt and squish bugs, make sure performance is up to par, that sort of stuff. You know, give us a working product. So many devs forget about this. After launch they should then spend another two or three months hunting and squishing bugs that are found by the playerbase.

Only when the bug reports trickle down to one or two a month should they start working on DLC. This will be a few months post-launch.
...You do know there are other parts of a development team than programmers and QA, right?

Your analogy would work if you chose not to pay, and then they scraped the cheese off of the burger right in front of you.

Personally I think it would work better if they presented you with the cheese on the burger but instead of taking it off if you refused to pay they sold it to you with the cheese in a plastic bag that you have to pay them to remove and if you try to remove the slice of cheese yourself that they sold you they accuse you of stealing the cheese that you paid for.

I want the endings, the course is hard and suicidal. I want to die knowing I fought for what I believed in, damnit!

I believe Vork can share some wisdom regarding cheese gouging.

As for the DLC thing... meh.

If we're using fast food analogies, I think it is more like Meal vs A La Carte. If you buy the full meal up front, you essentially get the drink for free. If you just buy the burger, it is cheaper up-front, but you don't get a drink or fries. If you want a drink or fries later, you have to pay more.

It's not a perfect analogy, but then again, none are; and people are only forgiving to the analogies that support their own viewpoint. So, again, meh.

Man, good thing I already had lunch, otherwise I'd be making some poor nutrition choices...

I agree, it's terrible how McDonald's charge you extra money for cheese.
I KNOW, RIGHT?! And it's not even cheese, it's just some gray paste and food coloring!

OT: I completely agree. If you buy a car, do you demand genuine leather seats, twin DVDs and a ski rack for free because they exist? No, you pay extra if you want it. And stop complaining about the Javik DLC being on the disc. It's not. They put what was completed by the time the main game got gold to reduce the download time after we got the DLC. Why the fuck would you have to download half a GB if the DLC is on the disc? And if you play the game it's obvious that Javik was added in after the game was finished. You get some extra scenes and dialogue, but they really did not just rip a character off the game to sell him to us. It's an extra.
What do you want modelers and animators to do once the main assets are complete? Go home and weep onto their time sheets? I'd rather they added stuff to the game instead, thanks.

The McDonald's metaphor was quite possibly the funniest thing I've read today. Thank you good sir, and yeah people should really stop whining.

You'd think using a flamethrower alone would indicate exactly how few fucks these gentlemen give. The fact that they have facial hair and are using flamethrowers puts them into negative fucks. Their level of badassery is in the 9000+ range.

Captcha: "too bad", fitting.

First, you are overpaying for cheese like you are overpaying for coke or water. It doesn't matter the cheese is there.

Second, if a developer is working overtime how about focusing on the game, not on profit?

If they want to fill out their free time with extra work, they are free to do so. But if they are so focused on the game they shouldn't be making content, they should be perfecting it.

Perhaps less overtime will make developers more effective during work hours.

If you mean purely aesthetic DLC, then in my opinion that kind of DLC should rot in hell.

I can't tell others what to do with their money but if alternate costumes cost 1/6 of what the game does then I'll kindly tell everyone to stop giving them more ideas.

What's all this crap about Mass Effect 3? I thought this was about cheeseburgers. I should get someone's moral and intellectual superiority for free, since it's already complete.
And don't get that cheese on your burger anyway. It's processed fat and food coloring. You'd be better off putting a napkin on top and eat that.
And avoid mayo, use mustard instead.
