I don't mean hackers, hence off-topic. I'm talking about people who don't seem to know their trade well enough, if at all. Here's some personal experiences:

A hairdresser mentioned my roots were showing and offered to cover them up. Funny thing is, I've never dyed my hair.

I pull up at a car shop and a helpful mechanic takes a bet I've come in because of that "funny-sounding transmission". I was coming straight from a mandatory yearly check-up and I'm certain they'd have mentioned it if there was a transmission problem in my car. My actual reason for being there? One of the headlights had gone out during inspection. FML

Lastly my personal favourite: I went to see a doctor bacause my stomach had been really acting up for days. My regular doc was on holiday so I had to make do with an intern not much older than me. He insisted it was most likely a flu virus that would last 3 days tops. After I had just told him I'd been sick for 4 days and getting worse. The real kicker came with the paper work for a lab test:
Med student: "So you're...11 years old"
Me: "21"
Med student *blushing*: "Yeah that explains a few things"
Now I'm quite petite but I sure as hell don't have the figure of a child :p
Oh, and it wasn't a virus. Next time I heard from him he told me to check into hospital ASAP.

So there's my rants. Any similar stories you'd like to share, fellow Escapists?
