Your 1000th Post

So -- assuming you've got over 1000 posts -- what was #1000 like? Was it anything special? Did you even notice? Or did you waste the occasion on something trivial? Do you even remember? Or, on the other hand, was it a majestic and life-changing moment you'll never forget, like the first time you watched Firefly?

I'm just happy I can finally join the ranks of the elite, and am no longer forced to consort with those grubby, submillenial Plebians. Blech, the thought of them now, rolling around in their own filth, makes me nauseous.

So, is there like, an initiation ceremony? Will I get to meet Daystar Clarion?

I....don't remember. It was a while back. I think I noticed retroactively and went back to edit "This is my 1000th post!" into something.

Fairly trivial, really. I don't even really notice my post count anymore except that for the amount of time I've been here, it's still fairly low, which I'm perversely proud of. To my mind it means I've been off doing other things instead of just hanging out here annoying people!

I remember that I was posting a lot the day I got close to the fabled 1000 posts. At that time I thought that no one really noticed you until after the 1000 post mark. So once I got close I posted in every thread I could trying to get it. When I finally got it I posted in a thread that I can't even remember so it wasn't that epic of a 1000th post.

Though that was a long time ago and my 10,000th post was much more special

No idea really. Don't really pay attention to it anymore. Between forum games and user groups... I honestly don't even know how many legit posts I actually have.

It probably had something to do with bringing planet earth to my knees and forcing it to acknowledge my supremecy though... That or how awesome Banjo Kazooie is. 'Could've been either really.

It was a forum game and probably well over 3 years ago so it was probably something incredibly stupid.

I am yet to reach this important milestone in my life. But worry not, I have the party ready to go; the cake is safely in the freezer, ready to be defrosted when I get to post number 999. The clown is on permanent standby and has agree to drop any other bookings at such a time as I reach the magical 1000. And there will also be ponies. And a bear. And all of my closest friends and family. And a piñata.

All sarcastic joking aside, I am kind of looking forward to getting to 1000 posts, for a new badge, if nothing else (assuming I can avoid any sort of moderator wrath until then). Although I fear that, like with any milestone, once I'm past it it will seem far less significant. I may very well come back and edit this post once I do reach 1000, and I can let you all know what it was like. It might serve as a nice reminder for those who blew past it many moons ago and have forgotten the feeling.

Why would a number that ends in 0 be any more special than 1182?

Technically all of them are milestones for you as every post you make gives you one more post increasing your record. 1000 is just an arbitrary one to celebrate.

And I have no idea when it was or what it was... nor do I remember getting past 2000 and that was recently.

I don't really remember what it was exactly. I do remember that it was just a trivial post. No celebration or special topic or something. Not that it really matters.

Edit: Hang on, found it. It was a thread about what console you would bring if you went to an uninhabited island (I said PS2 and I still stand by it ).

You might've posted in a thread that's now been deleted, so it won't show in your history.
You might've posted in a usergroup, which also won't show in your history (post history at least).

I know my posting habits well.

I don't generally post in the type of threads that get deleted, and I remember the ones that do... plus I only had around 2500 legit posts to sift through.

...Of course I'm assuming only thread posts count XD

I wasn't aware 1000 posts made you elite. Figured you'd have to get to at least 10,000 for that!
Oh well, pushing four elite titles I don't remember mine. Don't even remember what my last post was.
