While the 3DS is still a ways off, finding out that some of the games that will be available are Ocarina of Time and Snake Eater got me excited, and thinking.

Obviously these are two older games, and the 3DS only has so much processing power, but if you could have an old(er) game come out on the 3DS, what would it be?

I personally think that Dragon Quest 8 wouldn't be too much to ask. DQ9 is very fun, but the story is even more generic than all its predecessors because of the lack of team mates dialogue.

Also RE 4 would be nice, but hard to pull off.

As already said, Ocarina of time. Since I adored that game. I'm also really hiped for the new Pitt game.

But remakes... Let me think... Well, there definetly there will be remakes of -several- orignial titles. Which most of us will buy, like a new 2D mario, a 3D mario. But what I'd like to see is a return to top-down perspective Zelda games, which aren't in a Cell-shaded style, and with gimmicks like a boat or a train. Just a pure ol' adventure like the old days. I used to love Oracles of Ages/Oracles of Seasons. So... Maybe those two remade, huh?

Pokemon Colosseum! Like before the arsed gamecube and wii versions.
Just because I loved it when I was younger. There are better games with greater potential, but Colosseum would be cool.(Think 3D pokemon battles!)

You know guys, there's a slight chance of them bringing out a game on the 3DS that ISNT a remake...

I would love the next persona game on the 3DS
Kid Icarus isn't a remake. Unless I'm mistaken, it's pretty much impossible to remake a 2D game in a 3D environment.

I was referring to the fact the posters before me had named nothing but remakes. Im fully aware that the 3DS will be making new and original games
My mistake :)

Someone should tell Capcom that Bionic Commando: Rearmed was impossible to make and to give back all that money.

Personally, if the 3D aspect actually works, I wouldn't mind seeing 3D versions of games that had alleged 3D perspectives. Such as Space Harrier or Doom. To see those games with an actual sense of depth would be interesting.

Sorta hope this may lead to new games for the Wii or 3DS hell at this point I'l take a Re-done version of them all.

I'd really like to see a Green Lantern game on the 3DS. I'm not entirely sure how it would work, but the fact that the GL power ring is powered by the wielder's willpower and imagination seems to mesh well with the concept of glasses-less 3D Nintendo is pushing. It just seems like an awesome idea to me.

A new 3D Mario game would be nice, similar to 64 or Sunshine rather than another Galaxy game.

Loads of 3D platformers are worth putting on the 3DS, the depth perception could help the gameplay a lot.

Well, the topic at hand is specifically "which remakes would you like to see?" So, of course people are going to say which old games they'd want revived on the system. That's exactly what we were asked to say.

I'm going to second both Battletanx: Global Assault, and Space Harrier. I don't need to second Doom, as I was beaten to the punch by two years.

What it [the Virtual Boy] needed was some first person shooters... Like Doom! That would've been awesome.
Oh, and at this point, I hope I don't need to tell anyone that I'm going to try very hard to manage a day one purchase of the 3DS purely for Star Fox.

I'm mainly interested in Snake Eater, particularly with the idea of layers of grass. That really seems like it'll turn out cool. I'm also interested in Kid Icarus with enemies that are flying away. It's an unusual thing to see and is an interesting solution to eye strain.

Other than that, it's all about the 3D camera.
