I hardly can decide for the best ever, but my two cents goes for Gunstar Heroes for the Genesis and Gun-Dec for the Famicom, great games that I still enjoy even today.

I even bought Gunstar Heroes for on PSN xD and I so would buy Gun-Dec.

Persona 3 portable, I could go on for hours about why I liked it but I'll summarize with this. I get bored of games extremely fast, twice as fast for PSP games, I played 105 hours of persona 3 and I never frustrated me and it never felt like I had to finish it I just played it(To be honest I played in easy and I think that may have been why I liked it)and I eventually beat it.

I'm on a Mass Effect bender at the moment so it's somewhat tempting to say Mass Effect 1 or 2 (I like aspects of both of them, I honestly can't decide which I prefer).

But no, I'm going to say that the game I consider to be the best ever (so far) is Beyond Good & Evil. It has a sublime balance of compelling story, interesting, well developed characters, excellent level and creature design, gameplay that is fun and above all works, and it is neither too short nor too long. A recipe for a perfect game, if you ask me.

Honourable mentions: Mass Effect 1 and 2, Chrono Trigger, Lufia 2, Heroes of Might and Magic 3, Master of Orion 2, Banjo Tooie, Phoenix Wright: Trials & Tribulations, Metroid Prime, Jet Force Gemini, Paper Mario & The Thousand Year Door, Portal, Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor, Super Street Fighter 2, Assassin's Creed II... I could keep going. All of these are superb games, but I still feel Beyond Good & Evil ticks just about every conceivable box for what makes a game great.

Hand Held: Any Pokemon Game.

PS1: Digimon world 1

PS2: War of the Monsters/Vice city

360: Halo Reach

However i think Bulletstorm will soon be on the top of list...the amount of things to do in that game is just wow!

That depends. If you want to know what game we find to be the best, technically speaking, my answer would be entirely different than what it'd be if you meant to ask what our favorite games were.

Man, so many, I can't begin...
Okay, I can't think of any one game, or even two, that are my favorites. So here's a list of the games I consider a tie for first:

Halo: Combat Evolved
Star Wars Republic Commando
Crysis
Persona 3 Portable
Final Fantasy 7 Crisis Core
The Darkness
Mass Effect
Mass Effect 2
Golden Sun
Golden Sun The Lost Age
Fire Emblem (The american release with Eliwood and Lyn and Hector)

Probably more, but that's all I can remember. These are the games that I will never give away.

Nothing has ever held my attention for so long since, and that honestly upsets me.

The delight I extracted from slaughtering so many creatures is nigh-on disturbing but I couldn't give a fuck. Diablo II defined what I now hold as the standard for a good game, and I shall treasure it always.
God that picture is messed up. Why does Diablo look like a Warcraft Orc.......uhh you didn't make, it or anything right? [nervous laugh]
It was just the first non-screenshot pic that I got when I Googled the title. It does look a bit retarded but hey, that's 1999 concept art for you :L

Final Fantasy 9, Ace Combat Zero, Shadow of the Colossus, Portal.

I just put all the games in my S-Ranked pile of games. (Rank games from X-S-A-B-C-D-F, have not seen a game worthy of my X rank yet.)
Shadow of the Colossus AWESOME GAME :D still waiting for the ps3 one thats coming out hopefully.
my F-ranked game would be Too human and Kane and lynch 2 dog days the world needs to know there not worth the box they come in.

At the moment I really don't know.

If I manage to really get into Deus Ex that might take the spot, but I sorta doubt it.

XCOM really does have a lot going for it... but I could never choose a favourite, there are too many great games. I literally have like 200 games, most of which are at least good, I could probably name 20 great games from that list without much trouble.

Mother 3.

That game is the greatest thing ever made. Never has a game pulled my heartstrings like Mother 3, to the point where just listening to the theme song almost got me in tears.

It is that good.
