So, wonderful Escapists, what's your biggest pet peeve?

Mine would have to be when people try to be funny by singing the lyrics to a song wrong purposely. It's not funny. You look stupid. Its an insult to music.

Also sorry if my op is a bit more bland then most of my other topics (Which you probably don't remember).

the amount of "pet peeve" threads we have..haha kidding

1. people thinking being cynical makes them "smart" or "better" than your averge man

and everything on this list

http://www.cracked.com/blog/the-7-stupidest-things-that-make-people-proud/

oh and "Im sorry"

as in "Im sorry, but x is really shit"

what are you "sorry" about? are you sorry that your right? without a doubt? your sorry because whatever youve said is so undeniably correct that it has caused my feeble mind to break down at the very notion of being wrong and your sorry that your brilliance has ruined my day?

or are yu sorry that you sound like a jerk..because I can buy that

"No offense but..." and then proceeds to say something blatantly inflammatory. "Look no offence but you're an idiot." I just can't stand it. Why do things that make no sense have to be so damn colloquial? Also of course people who say "I could care less." Couldn't, Couldn't!

In all honesty it changes depending on the day and what idiot made what comment.

Ill list a few things if you like though:

Climate Change: I do a degree which focuses heavily on this, peoples ignorance astounds me.

Discrimination: Even most white men seem to believe this is only one way. Men discriminate against women, white people discriminate against everyone else. While I don't deny it happens, this is so far from a one way problem its not even funny. Attitudes on all sides can be appalling.

Piracy arguments: Generally. The lack of a Theory of Mind on all sides as well as complete lack of study into its causes makes attempts to stop it laughable. You can never control that which you do not understand.

Most people who play LoL: They are just bad....Period.

Console Gamers: Cos a pad would beat a mouse right...Right?
Console Gamers: Cos consoles are more powerful then PC's....this comment just gives me chronic depression in human life.

PC Gamers: Keyboard and mouse are always better than a pad:....You ever played Sonic on a mouse kid?

Apple Fan boys: ...If I need to tell you why you will never understand.

The filth masses who are going on 20 years unemployed with no education to speak of getting pissy about benefit cuts.

People who do do skill-less job who strike for more pay... Youth unemployment is like 30%. There are people with degrees who will happily take your job off you simply to be employed. Your being kept on because it looks bad to fire your entire staff, but keep pushing numbskull, its only a matter of time.

Arts Degrees. I took 3 years out to study my hobbie! Yay! Now try and get a job to go with that 30k debt...

DLC. £3....For a SKIN! Are you kidding me!? The only reason I can make that myself is because you REMOVED the colours from the pallet before release you cheap cheating bastards!

DLC...£15....For 4 maps...You realise that if you opened up the map editor tools you have 50 in 3 days at least this good if not better....For free. And you want me to pay for 4? Get lost.

Origin.

I could go on, but Ill stop there.

People that are ignorant, like you'll ask them something or talk to them and they'll just stand there as if you never said a thing. That and people who don't use manner. They cost nothing, please and thank you would be nice mate.

A few things:

Apologizing way too much; Me being offended is a rare treat, for I hold very few things very dear to my heart so when someone finally breaks a barrier I see it as a test to not get overly emotional or kick that person's arse, and seeing other people offended is always fun. People need to learn that in the real world all types of opinions and different philosophies/ideologies exist. Folk that are so much of a peoples pleaser that they can't open their mouths without apologizing in advance for something that might seem slightly provocative bug me.

People that have a western society luxury problem and acting as if it is truly devastating.

Trolls.

People who feed trolls.

And people, semi-grown up, like in their late teens or even early twenties, acting like dicks.

People saying I'm immature. I know that in and of itself is sometimes just someone telling me what they feel is the "cold, hard, truth", but most of the time I've heard it it made no sense. Almost every time I've been accused of being immature, it was from someone who barely knows me or just because I watch cartoons and have fairly straightforward, somewhat optimistic views of the world. Other times it was because I forgot to do something, because apparently being forgetful (which I'm notorious for amongst people who know me even sort of well) is immature. Adults remember everything, ALWAYS. So yea, I may be lackadaisical, cheery, shy, and have a simpler view of things, but you know what I'm not? Petty, mean, insensitive, brash, or irresponsible, which are generally thought of as the BAD parts of being a child. Because I'm not those things, I choose NOT to punch you in your ugly fucking face for calling me immature. D:<

Definitely a little on the other side of other people's pet peeves, but... Rape. Yep, I hate that with a burning passion. It's probably #1 on my list of things I hate in the world, and it's especially a more powerful hate when it's against minors like people at age 13. That drives me absolute bat-shit, and further corrupts my thoughts that the world is even good anymore (Which it probably isn't XD)

When people get really close to my face when talking and as I back away they get closer.
"I do not want your face next to my face get the hint."

When people don't know what I'm talking about, it makes me feel like an idiot.

My internet pet peeve is when people say their country is the worse one in the world or something to the like.

People that hide behind it being their opinion so they can remain ignorant. Or something. I'm not sure if I'm wording this correctly, but you could possible know what I mean. Or maybe you don't.

People that complain about having a hard life when they are living in 1st world country and aren't poor
Seriously people think their lives are so hard sometimes, maybe they should think about people in Africa or the middle East.
Most of the time their lives are hard because they make it hard upon themselves, not trying in school and getting negative grades or when they have a boyfriend/girlfriend who is a dick/***** yet they will stay with them or not look for a different kind of partner
If anyone hasn't noticed i'm talking about those stupid facebook statuses.

Why not do it while you're in the shower? Problem solved! ;)

Pretty much when people ask me if I had found a job yet or telling me different ways of getting a job.
I'm just fed up telling them about it and making myself feel bad about it (demoralizing). Yes I'm unemployed but I doing my best to find a job already! (Yes I know they mean will but still.)
