Erm, I used to watch Sky Dancers. That was my personal MLP, in essence, back in 1996.

And I'm a 28 year-old guy who's reasonably secure in his sexuality. The worst part is I didn't have a man-crush on any of the guys or girls in that show.

I had a man-crush on Skyclone, the fat, bald, over-the-top antagonist. Don't ask, 'cause I don't know.

<youtube=M5iLIU9hBjw>

My parents are well aware that for reasons which are totally beyond me, I'm basically asexual when it comes to actual people. Guys don't turn me on, but neither do girls. Animals don't do it for me, nor do furries. What turns me on is *animated* fat dudes.

Again, I really don't know why that is. Pete, Mister Weatherbee, Mister Wilson, the fatter of the two cops from Mummies Alive... You name it, I fapped to it in secret. The folks are now aware that a lot of what turns me on is fake, they've tried suggesting that maybe I needed to nurture a healthier social life than I already do, to maybe try and check both sides of the fence. I've tried, with Ladies' Nights and gay bars leaving me equally dispassionate.

I've found that my early-teenage yearnings for quote-unquote True Love were pretty trite. I was basically aping what the other guys my age were saying and copying their own fantasies in a semi-conscious effort to fit in. I've basically given up on romance since then, seeing as my odd preferences would make it difficult for me to maintain a relationship.

Basic companionship, though? That's another story. Friends, family and potential roommates tend to satisfy my social cravings sufficiently. Who knows, maybe I'll wake up one morning and discover my personal pendulum finally decided to swing one way or another.

In any case, being flat-out straight or gay would simplify things greatly.

Religiously speaking, I'd say Confusion is my creed of choice. And no, that's not a typo of "Confucianism". So many holy texts, so many believers, so much scientific evidence that disproves them all and still, *so* much dogged persistence in the believers!

It's mind-boggling, honestly. So I just don't think about it. You might as well pigeonhole me as an atheist, then.

I'm a Christian and I like BSDM. Figure that one out. (And no, I'm not the one who wrote the letter to Love FAQ).
BDSM is a very common fetish amongst the religious. It tends to be because religions just tell you to repress things that you're told are wrong or you'll be punished. The idea of punishment simmers in the mind and as your personality forms that becomes part of it. People keep their 'wrong' thoughts private and they also tend to keep their sexual practices quiet, they influence each other over time.

Because they repress their urges more, when they do let them out they tend to be more 'intense' and/or fetishistic than those of a sexual liberal. It's for this reason that states like Texas have a much higher proportion of paid membership to specialist sites than states like New Jersey.

OT: I'm a dom.
I'm mostly atheist.... and I'm totally into BSDM, my partner however, I think he's less into it and more religious, so I think it's more of personal tastes, not really a repression of "what's wrong" but this is probably coming from a liberal conservative American, so who's to say?

While what you say makes sense and I'm sure there's some connection, I can't see that being a large reasoning to enjoy BSDM, hell, I just find it arousing to the point of blacking out from ecstasy (has happened on occasion, no strangling or suffocation, or anything like that, just pure pleasure).

OT: Ooooh boy, where to start.. umm I'm currently living with my boyfriend like 90% of the time. Ummm I could go into more sexual things, but I'm just going to leave it at BSDM and I'm a complete slut in bed. I've already agreed to marry my bf, although we're not technically "engaged." Although I'm a girl I masturbate pretty regularly. I'm the one who ruined my dad's computer downloading porn... oh what, I'm back to sexual stuff, my bad. Anything to do with my political views (which is odd because my Mom's a die-hard Democrat and my Dad's a republican, so you'd think I'd be okay to say my piece). I regard my mom as senile and don't really take anything she says seriously anymore. I used to sniff sharpies to get high... (only lasted for about a week or so). My two ex-best friends are now lesbians together (only ex because we just fell out after high school). Ummmm hmmm now to compile the list of things they don't tell me....

I'm a brony. Maybe not the most dramatic thing in the world, but still a bit embarassing to admit to some.

Erm practising Wicca makes me feel really calm and basically *cures* my depression for a little while. Unfortunately I have a huge guilt complex because I was brought up a Christian (not practising now) and I also feel silly because it was invented in the 60's... I don't practise it at all because of those two things.

I have never known what to do about it tbh. Just felt 'right' :/

I identify as bisexual, though hetero-romantic. For those who aren't aware, I came up with that term to describe myself without knowing if it's already used, but I think it describes me pretty well, if you can get the meaning. Basically, I'm sexually attracted to both men and women, and I've had experiences with both genders. However, I've only ever had romantic feelings, actual feelings of love (completely seperate to lust) for women. I could maybe develop such feelings for men in the future, but it's never actually happened to me, and I can't imagine it with anyone I know. So yeah, romantically straight, but sexually bi. I expect some stick from LGBT members for that, but that's who I am, and it's not going to change any time soon.

Anyway, that's the first time I've told that to anybody. Stating it in an online community of mostly strangers. I haven't told my family, they don't even know I've had sexual contact with anyone other than women, and truth be told I'm probably not going to actually say anything about it to them in the forseeable future. Still, if I do ever tell them, then all I'll be doing is admitting I'm not completely straight in my sexual life, which itself isn't their business anyway...

Otherwise, I have nothing to really 'come out' about. All my friends and family know my personality and the 'real me', and as for my hobbies and such, again, I'm an open book. I enjoy things like anime and video games, I don't bother hiding that from my friends, and if they don't like it then sod them. Really, the only 'coming out' admission I have is the one I mentioned at the start of this post :p.

I'm a big proponent of eugenics and having every kid kept infertile till they are 18 or over and first having to be evaluated before given a license to breed.

...it's not something you share with people.

I'm a bit of a masochist, and I'm agnostic, although kind of on the border between that and atheism. My immediate family wouldn't care about either, but I'd be careful who I tell about those things outside of my immediate family, especially my religious beliefs, considering I'm living in the south.

If you dont mind me askig. I have never understood BDM, what is sexy about hurting or being hurt by those you love ?
I'm personally not into giving or receiving pain (the S&M part of BDSM) but being dominated by a man really turns me on. If I was going to play amateur-psychologist, I'd guess it has something to do with wanting a big, strong, fierce man who can protect me against all the dangerous animals that lurk out in the prehistoric wilderness! ;)

And that's all that should matter. If anything, a religion invented in the 60s is likely to be more relevant to you and your life than something written by a person who died thousands of years ago. But whatever helps you cope with life (providing it doesn't involve beating up old ladies or strangling kittens) is absolutely fine.

OT: I'm fairly "out" about being bisexual to everyone it's relevant to (which means almost no one). But only a couple of very close friends know that I practise home-brew witchcraft to deal with stress. (And one of them is a devout Evangelical, who doesn't let it affect our friendship, but does reserve the right to say "I told you so" when I end up in hell!)

To be honest, the main reason I don't tell people is because I strongly identify myself as an atheist. Being a pagan is fine. Being a bisexual pagan is almost expected. Being a bisexual, atheist pagan is not something I want to try explaining to my friends and family!

I'm a transvestite. I'm an atheist. I haven't told my parents about this. I don't think I ever will. So what's your closet that you haven't come out of yet? I'm not just talking LBGT stuff, I'm talking any kind of lifestyle choice that your parents (or other people close to you) wouldn't approve of or that for other reasons you're keeping secret.
Is being a Atheist a bad thing? I heard all the time that most American's are very religious people, but here in the UK, you are pretty much deemed a social outcast for not being one. Which is quite strange considering how religious focused our country was in the past.
Sure America is full of Christians but there has proven to be plenty of room for atheist. I know quite a few. That's at least true for me and I live in portland Oregon.

I don't really keep anything a secret from my friends and family (except for porn). I guess the only thing I haven't really told them about is a mlp fan-fic that I think up, but are too lazy to actually write, in my spare time. My friends and family already know I'm a brony, but I don't tell people about this because it would just take too long to explain the story.

I have nothing to hide, for better or worse. I'll tell anyone anything about me, without hesitation.

Fortunately, they usually have to ask first.

yup, I'm going to hell
I don't see you would go to hell. My philosophy is what the bible essentially teaches you is "don't be an asshole" (paraphrased to a very rudimentary degree). As long as you follow that I don't see why you should be in trouble in the after-life :)

Well, let's see. My parents are very catholic and right wing, my sister is heavily catholic, and my brother is less so than my parents, but still catholic, though he doesn't express it much...

And then there's me. Ap/athiest, semi-existentialist, Spinozist, who does not value human life, is pro-choice, does not like interacting with other people, does not CARE about most other people, likes beastiality and incest, and has a recent desire to burn other people
s property with molotovs.

My parents know about the religious/philosphical part. they know about none of the rest. Because I'm even remotely unlike them in terms of belief, they worry about me. God forbid they learn about the rest. they'd probably disown me for the last half. XD

Man, that was disturbingly poetic. Rather beautiful.

OT: Out of the many weird ideas and opinions I have, only few (my "best friends" group) know that I think that psychoactive drugs, mainly Psilocybin mushrooms, LSD and weed, should be tried at least once by each human being, to expand their own horizons of consciousnesses before they grow old, boring and conservative.

I have some amount of faith in some form of higher power, not something I typically bring up though, even on the interwebz... ESPECIALLY on the interwebz. I hate religious debates.

In private I also dance and sing, choreographing routines; given that I'm a 20 year old man and not a teenaged girl I feel that this is something I'd be hesitant to share IRL.

Or as Fred Clarke puts it, "That Guy."
You know That Guy. He takes two parking spaces to protect his paint job. He races past the pregnant lady to grab the last seat on the train. He sends back his steak and undertips. He drives on the shoulder all the way to the front of the traffic jam, then bullies his way back into line. He sees all of this as evidence that he's cleverer than the rest of us suckers. That That Guy.
...
My first boss in my first job after college was That Guy. This made our business trips a nightmare. He didn't believe in checking bags ? that just slows you down. So instead he packed everything for a weeklong trip into a gargantuan bag three times larger than the size limit for carry-on luggage. (This was before 9/11 ? back when you could still bully airline personnel into letting you break the rules.)

My boss's giant "carry-on" bag was so large that he had to wheel it around on this folding metal contraption. Getting both his massive bag and the not-small folding metal thing into the overhead bin on the plane took a bit more bullying. He'd board early. When some ticket checker had the temerity to point out that his row hadn't yet been called, he'd just act entitled and put-upon, sighing acidly, rolling his eyes and calling them by the name on their name tag in a condescending tone until they'd surrender and let him by.

The other passengers were never happy to arrive at their seats only to find that one of the overhead bins in their section was already full and that half of the other one was taken up with some weird folding metal thing. They were even less happy after the plane landed and, while it was still taxiing to the gate and the seat-belt sign was still lit, my boss would jump up out of his seat and lay claim to the aisle for the reassembly of the wheeled metal thing. This reassembly, getting the giant bag down from the overhead bin and strapping it back onto the metal thing took 10 to 15 minutes, during which everyone who'd been seated behind my boss on the plane had to wait, standing in the aisle, unable to exit the plane.

That Guy.
...
"And what does the Lord require of you?" the prophet Micah asks. "To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God."

Shorter Micah: Don't be That Guy.

"'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment," Jesus said. "And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'"

Shorter Jesus: Don't be That Guy.

Uh... Don't really have much to hide from them.

Though I did hide that I smoked weed from them. But my dad used to be in the DEA, so telling them would have been the worst argument of my life.

Uh... Yeah. I never really told them that I was Agnostic, though my parents kinda stopped being religious like 7 years ago for no particular reason. Doubt they'd care that much.
