If he wanted that, I'd say get another 8800GT or two.

I think you could easily overclock that to about 4GHz personally. My friend just built his computer too and he has an E8400, but I think with your processor and board you could do it too:). I only got a quad core cause I'm going to be doing rendering and animation on mine in addition to playing games.

what the hell do you need 8 GB of ram for!?!
For 64 bit Windows Vista, having 8GB and 32bit would cap it at about 3.something GB rendering the rest of his RAM useless. 64bit takes full advantage of 8GB of RAM. I envy you lol.

It's had stability issues above 3.2 without heavy overvolting...and it gets pretty warm overvolted. I'm happy enough with my 50% overclock :p

Edit: If any of you builders/modders/overclockers want to contribute to the computer build thread [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.105715], I'll be filled with joy. I'm trying (failing) to get it going as a community resource for Escapists interested in building.

Ah ok. Just out of curiosity though are you using the stock cooler? If you are then I would suggest getting this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Arctic-Cooling-Freezer-Socket-Cooler/dp/B000KB96QS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1239475052&sr=8-1

Helped me go from 3.0 to 3.4:)
