Oh, heres a stereotype. Americans changing everything for no possible reason other than to be different.
England, drive on the left.
America, right.
As I understand it, that comes from what side wagons would pass each other on. The US being made of former British colonies (ish), used to do it the same way as the British, until a bunch of patriots decided it wasn't American enough.

Presumably the people doing it the other way ran of wagons due to crashes first.

Well, I'm an American, but American stereotypes have been done to death already.

However, I live in Florida, so I have a very "special" stereotype to live up to:

Canada:
-Eh?
-Maple syrup
-Live in Igloos (may sound nuts, but there are people who believe that...)
-Are all really nice and somewhat passive aggressive

Quebec:
-French
-Separatist
-Obsessed with poutine

Southern US: Xenophobic racist morons who exit their homes with shotguns to greet their mothers. Not a single grain of truth in that entire crop.

Canada: Maple syrup, moose, beaver, mounties, "eh", "aboot".

Newfoundland: Talking fast, more moose, "yes by", cod fish.

Actually, the Newfie accent overrides the Canadian one, so no "eh"s or "aboots" here.

Well, America is pretty much the #1 most hated country on earth, so we don't get the good stereotypes.
Fat stupid racists sums up everyone elses oppinions. MY oppinion on MY country: A bit of everything. Some of us are wonderful smart loving tolerant people, while others are idiot douchebags. Not doing so well with politics right now, but I think we'll get better, I just have no idea when.
Also, WE'RE NOT REALLY THAT FAT! Well, maybe it depends on the state you live in.

Well, that's complete maplehockey!

Australia.

Well I need to go ride my kangaroo to work later on so I can help out with the crocodiles - just need to be careful of all those damn drop bears on the way.

... Might stop by Mel Gibson's later if he's home, if not I'll go by the pub and have drinks with Paul Hogan...

America: Awesome, the best at everything, amazing, hilarious, god-like, and patriotic.
Err... maybe inside the country. But that's not how the world stereotypically perceives you.

I think he means how other places stereotype the country.
That is one of the stereotypes.

i'm from Northern Ireland; all of us are drunken, abusive, unintelligible, angry, psychopathic terrorists who kill each other because the other guy worships the same god, from the same book just in a slightly different way.

god i hate that stereotype, but the sad thing is thats a lot more true than most people think :'(
