If you could customize the HUD in any game(s):

~ Which game(s)
~ What would you add to the HUD?
~ What would you get rid of?
~ How would the HUD be structured (placements on the screen)

Never used one. Not even with wow. The standard hud worked fine for me despite what everyone says. I tried using a custom one but I just couldnt get used to it.

My custom HUD would include health, ammo, ammo consumed/second,health change/second, weapon, weapon accuracy, weapon condition, enemy target, enemy target's name, enemy target's health, enemy target's weapon, enemy target's ammo, enemy target's blood type, altitude, wind direction, wind speed, % composition of the air, and a few more misc. tables and charts.

Ammo and health, that's all I need.

Far Cry 2's HUD is perfect for me. It's tiny.

~ Which game(s) Every FPS
~ What would you add to the HUD? Everything not in Clive Barker's Undying
~ What would you get rid of? Everything not in Clive Barker's Undying
~ How would the HUD be structured (placements on the screen) Exactly where it was in Clive Barker's Undying

Reason: The HUD was simple, all important information was easily available.

Health in the bottom left corner, ammo and whatever else in the bottom right, navigation sometimes in the top left, leave everything else clear.

Ammo, health, health of a team mate if one is around, ability to toggle radar/map on or off, current gun, nades, and armor. I don't need a plethora of dodads and whistles I don't need.

I need ammo and health, and I need that to be as small as possible. The less HUD the better. I don't need the Metroid helmet lining to be seen at all times. I can get immersion from simply playing a good game.

I would have health in a shallow crescent at the bottom of the screen.

Ammo would be on a color-changing bar at the far right

That's a bit much, I really don't think the enemy's blood type factors in at all.

My HUD:

I would have health in a shallow crescent at the top of the screen.

Ammo would be on a color-changing bar at the far right

Very small hatch marks would gather (from the edges of the screen) on any target in view, and I would have teammate location marked by very small circles that assemble over a team-mate in or out of view, and they turn Yellow when the team mate is under fire.

Both the circles and hatch marks would be less than half a centimeter wide and transparent.

I would have white dots (like the hatch marks) Gather on anything that could be picked up or was valuable, with the name of the item displayed in a very small window above the item.

The hatch marks would grow red when I was aiming at the enemy.

And if I really had to go the whole nine yards I would have the Hatch marks go blue if the enemy was firing, and purple if I was aiming at a firing enemy.

I would appreciate being able to see the health of all passengers in vehicles that I am driving at any given time. Decreasing the need for communication between individuals is the whole reason that technology was invented, after all.

Depends on the game... if it's supposed to be super realistic, nothing except a crosshair. Things like changes in color tint on screen let you know when you're near death. Ammo... when you're out you're out, maybe show up when you're nearly out, but not otherwise.
