The point of this thread is to post any realizations or other kinds of thoughts that blew your mind today.
I realized that the reason our human civilization is so hateful towards each-other is because of people like Fred Phelps and Hitler and (Insert other dick-tater [yes, that is right] here.) making people believe things using facts in the wrong context, and bending the truth to where people believe it. While I know that there is no pure fact that isn't open to interpretation, isn't it right to make it so where the individual themselves can interpret it how they want, instead of having someone else tell them how it is?

Feel free to discuss your epiphanies or your opinions and comments on others.

(I do come on this site often I just don't have much of a reason to log in and talk. Until now.)

Maybe that's because you have to form your own opinion, and the only way to do that is to see the movie. That's why I don't watch Movie Bob's reviews for the suggestions, although I do like to watch them anyway.
Not to be a hypocrite or anything >.>

I really could not agree more with this. It's tragic how frequently this happens and how easily people are misled.

As for my epiphany, today, I realized that I have nothing in common with the girl I've been with for the past year and I'm miserable being with her. However, I can't bring myself to leave her because I still care about her and don't want to hurt her.

I had a strange and extra delayed reaction one a week or two ago I think, cept I forgot it. But I think it had to do with a joke I missed and only understood a day or two after seeing the episode and randomly thinking about it.

I realized today that too many people get dependent on the handouts offered to them and learn to accept them without thanking.

I understand what you're going through, although I can't tell you what to do because there really isn't a right way to do it.

I had another epiphany! Becoming a type 1 civilization will either be the make or break of the human race, it will decide whether or not we become just another extinct species, or the beginning of an interstellar race. So that means within the next 100 years we will reach that breaking point of whether or not we die out or we will be just the start of something even bigger. Oh, what I wouldn't do to make this happen.

Maybe your peers just have become complacent with sharing and just assume that the thanks is implied.

The original poster makes no sense. Humans don't need to be manipulated into hating something anymore than we need to be manipulated into loving something. We are just deeply stupid and possess a massive herd mentality, making it very easy for people to manipulate those emotions for they're own benefit. As for "interpret[ing] it how they want", that is the precise reason those problems exist. Facts do not require interpretation; they aren't Hamelet.

On topic: I have no epiphanies for today, but one I had recently is that if I don't stop wasting so much time perusing the intertubes instead of studying I will fail university study again, and I can't bring myself to care.

Well, yesterday I realised that The Expendables was actually a fairly fun, enjoyable movie and to not listen to Movie critics who are just hurting over there favourite film being a box-office disaster. Of course, those two things are completely unrelated.

I see what you did there.

I had the startling realisation today that potatos grow underground. I had previously thought that they grew in fields, nestled at the base of thick bushes. Now I'm getting some unwanted imagery.

I feel bad for not understanding what you mean by unwanted. Who doesn't 'love' potatoes?

It's okay, it's just that I have a very demented mind and it automatically went somewhere undesirable when I...yeah. Don't worry about it. It's not worth thinking about. >.>

I learned that people are not only too quick to judge, but very discriminatory and overgeneralizing of other's misfortunes.

Actual reasoning. While strolling through Blockbuster, I overheard a couple looking for a movie. When they could not find it, the man said "Let's go to (insert local poor community here)'s Blockbuster. Nobody there can afford Blu Rays anyways.
