Your Destiny Awaits

Destiny is finally getting released, we want you to get into the game without having to shell out any of your hard earned money.

These days it's rare to get a good sci-fi shooter, in the past we've had the Battlefront, and Halo series', but now the creators of Halo bring us into the 28th century with Destiny. After a lengthy development and Beta we finally get to see Destiny live up to its hype. We've been teased for several years about this game changing shooter, since it was first mentioned in Halo 3: ODST [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Destiny_(video_game)#Development]. Its not out yet how the hell do you know if its a masterpiece if its not even out yet?

Stop with all the hype!

I don't know what the game is going to be like yet but if its anything like the last "masterpiece" titanfall it will be forgotten within a month.

Please stop with all this stuff it only encourages the toxic pre-order culture that is rampant in the AAA industry at the moment.

What am I even looking at here? 28th century? Is that before or after the events of HALO? It looks like you're fighting human enemies, but the backgrounds and props make no sense. If it takes place before HALO, why do humans have vehicles comparable to Ghosts, which humans in Halo 1 reacted to as if they were this unheard-of alien technology giving the Covenant crazy force-multipliers? If it takes place after HALO, why do all the lamp posts and space shuttles and other things look modern-day instead of futuristic?

Why is Bungie copying RAGE? Why is Bungie even working on the HALO franchise after going through all that trouble and sacrificing the license to break away from Microsoft and go Indie? Why does that "super-charged" pistol remind me of those terrible underpowered lego-guns from 4? (Probably something about the shape and the shader is subconsciously reminding me of it, I'm guessing.) Where's my Oni II or whatever?

If Halo 4 felt like a step backwards for the franchise and made me feel uncomfortable from the first screenshots, this one just makes me want to crawl into a hole in the ground with my 360 and hide from the AAA industry until the screaming stops.

I'll assume you're serious and just haven't been keeping up with the various studios. Bungie has nothing to do with the Halo franchise any more. Destiny is a completely new IP. Halo 4 was done by 343 Studios who don't really get Halo.

I will say that I wasn't really looking forward to Destiny until I played the Beta. After that, Destiny feels like the game that Halo 4 was supposed to be.

But again, I don't see a whole lot special with all the hype it's being receiving. Look how overhyping Watch_Dogs was and how it actually came to be in the hands of gamers and reviewers.

Might have been one of the other competitions they run? Escapist have usually had a "us only" rule up until now which annoys the hell out of me. Can't find anything about that on this one though

Okay so it is by Bungie, but it's not a Halo game? But wait. If Destiny isn't part of the Halo franchise, how could it have been mentioned in ODST?
