Create a line up of what you think your dream band would be, include dead people if needs be :)

Oh and try not to turn this into a vs thread, we all have different opinions on who's the better guitarist / drummer etc

I'll start with mine :)

Singer - Corey Taylor
Guitarist - Dimebag Darell
Bass - Cliff Burton
Drums - Joey Jordison

going for the speed / thrash sound here :)

Err...well. Assuming that the title says it all, I'd say it's already been made and it was called Rage Against The Machine.

However, in the true sense of fantacism I'd have to go for Jimi Hendrix and Jimmy Page on guitar (hmmm, same first name, never appreciated that fact before), and Tom Morello for the hell of it (deciding this is going to be one huge band now), Tim Commerford and John Entwhistle on bass, John Bonham and Brad Wilks on drums, and a vocal combination of Hendrix, Zack de la Rocha, Robert Plant, Hayley Williams, Agent M (Tsunami Bomb) and Florence Walsh (Florence & the Machine) in some crazy funk/blues/rock/emo/rap group.

Alright; keeping it to four:
Guitar: Jimi Hendrix
Bass: Flea
Drums: Neil Peart
Vocals: Jim Morrison
Hendrix and Flea would be great together, Neil has established himself as the best drummer ever, and the doors were great.

Ok now for "more is more" style band:
Lead Guitar: Hendrix, Dave Mustaine, Yngwie Malmsteen, Tom Morello
Rhythm Guitar: Tom DeLonge, John Petrucci
Bass: Flea, John Myung, Tony Kanal
Drums: Travis Barker, Neil Peart, Scott Travis
Vocals: Jim Morrison, Rob Halford, Chris Cornell, MC Bat Commander, Hayley Williams
Keyboards: Tom Scholz, Thomas Bangalter
Cowbell: Will Ferrel
Twenty people. Backing vocals belong to at least 6 of Bang Camaro's 17 vocalists. This is truly the best band ever concieved, converging all styles of rock music and ending up as something I like to call Epic. Nothing else, the genre is Epic. The band name would be "Nineteen Guys and One Girl Who are All Really Good at What They Do."

Hmm, some my favorite Hip-Hop artist are already teamed up, Kanye West and Common (Sense) have been partners for a long time. Though, if i am going to speak to the world of the non-existant. Sabzi, (Blue Scholoars) as lead Vocalist, Dj Premiere (Scratch Artist) on the back music, Luke Boyd (Classified) as the second vocalist. However, I can not specify a certain beat these two would use, but there views and vocal sound is similar.

Vocals - Sarah Brightman or Tarja (Nightwish), depending on what kind of soprano is needed. Sarah Brightman for lyrical soprano, Tarja for more of a colourature or soubrette.
Drums - Frank Beard (ZZ Top). Innovative, refreshing, and fun to listen to.
Saxophone - Lou Marini (Blues Brothers). Seriously, have you listened to him? There's no better saxophonist.
Guitar - John Frusciante (RHCP), for how well he performs funk sounds.
Bass - Chris Schwegler (Santana). He gets into the groove of the song so well and plays perfectly. Excellent improv skills too.
Keyboard - John Bundrey (The Who, Bob Marley, etc). My favourite keyboard player/organist.

Basically a blues-funk sound with flexible and powerful soprano voices.
I'm a sucker for experimental music, I know.

Well, if you could somehow mix Muse and Aerosmith, with the lead singer of Iron Maiden, I think you'd be well on your way.

Neil Young- Vocals/Guitar
Nick Cave- Vocals/Guitar
Sergei Rachmaninoff- Piano
John Cale- Bass/Viola/All other instruments he plays
Art Blakey - Percussion

Neil and Nick would share vocal duties. (as I couldn't pick just one.

It would obviously take some time for them to develop a style, due to all of them coming from such different musical backgrounds, but I'm sure it'd work out.
