As the title would suggest... what nostalgic game of your youth would you love to have remade and how?
Mine would be Spartan X. It will be fully 3D, played on Wii via a set of wiimote and nunchuck strapped to forearm and ankle respectively, with the possiblity to strap wiimotes and nunchucks on all your limbs for ultimate bad-ass beatdowns.

Enemies will pour in L4D horde style, and you flail your limbs around and fend off against the body-bumping bad guys. You can also jump and duck and it's played in first person with the option to play in 3rd. Voice acting is super corny and there's tons of Engrish all over the place.

my second choice would be another NES game, can't remember the name. But it was you as a ninja jumping through the trees and rainy weather and lightning on the first level. You could upgrade your ninja stars and stuff. What was that game?

I would like a new proper X-wing game... or Descent Freespace 3...

Damn it, we don't have enough any decent modern space sims...

I'm one of those people that would like a FF7 remake.
Can't... well, Future Cop L.A.P.D. would be good :D just need a graphics upgrade.
and maybe... Tombi 1/2. I only had 2, but it was sooo fuuuun.

I'm still waiting for the proper remake of the original Elite by David Braben. For those that never played it it essentially takes bore the best elements of Freespace, Eve Online and X.
If it recombined all those elements I'd be all over it like a donkey on a waffle.

Oh God, I would pre-order that right away! The Freespace series is beyond awesome. I remember the first time I flew next to one of the big ships. The scale of it all blew my mind!
So I agree with this.

Also, Mischief Makers. I'd settle for a Virtual Console release though.

I'd like to see Colony Wars: Vengeance and Red Sun put into one game and given the scale they had in the cutscenes.

They take place at the same time in the same areas of space, the PS1 games had fights involving about fifteen small craft and three-four large craft, nowadays we could have the full on fleet warfare the story sections always showed you.

Yup, another one who wants space games to come back.

It gets incredibly annoying after a while to read this sort off thing...if you actually searched then nobody would call you out - so don't bother posting this nonesense...

As for the topic at hand; I'd say either FF7, or Chrono Cross - both fantastic JRPG's that could be enhanced with this generations graphics.

Yeah, I loved it so much, it's a shame the studio is long gone and the rights are in question...

Definately a FF7 remake for me, but I agree with others on a decent X-wing remake

FF7 would be a good remake, providing they don't try to do anything new and consequently shit it up like they did with the rest of the FF7 continuum. However, I would really like to see a remake for Ace Combat 3. The American version was dessicated when it was brought over, leaving the entire storyline out. I personally wouldn't play it, but my brother would, and from what he tells me the original story was really good.

Bring back the old style games for classics like Spyro, Crash and Sonic. The 3D Sonic games weren't that bad, I actually liked Sonic Heroes, but when you compare them to the original 2D ones then the only decent 3D game was Sonic Adventure, and the Director's Cut (PC port) even more so. As for Spyro and Crash, the PS2 games weren't too bad, and although I was slightly confused by gameplay in Crash: Twinsanity, I still enjoyed it. But the PS1 games were the best of all and we need to see a return to those styles, and storyline continuity, for all the Crash and Spyro games now.

For the record, I haven't played the newest Spyro games, with Elijah Wood, though I would like to simply because as a fan of the series I want to see whether or not the newer games are actually any good.

Shadow Over Mystara would kick ass with a Devil May Cry engine. Or the old 2-D side-scrolling action would kick ass, too. It would also rock to be able to upgrade your character's stats.

Morrowind, but with improved graphics and the oblivion interface (But for the love of smeg keep morrowind's leveling system not oblivion's).
