When I am old and decrepit, I will give my young grandchild a single, useless bean. I will stress to him the importance of this bean and how useful it will be in the future, though I won't tell him how. For now, I'll tell him to keep it secret and to keep it safe.
Then, when I'm on my deathbed surrounded by my family, minutes away from dying. I will ask him to approach me. I will get him to lean over me and I will whisper into his ear, "Remember that bean I gave you? I didn't tell you this but it is a magical bean with the power to save lives. I entrusted it to you in fear I would lose it. It's the only thing that can save my life. Give it to me now and do your grandfather proud."
I then watch as he discovers that he doesn't have it on him.
