Tiny Tank. Utterly hilarious at all points, fun to play with some of the funniest cutscenes I've ever seen.
"Cue the theme song: Tinky tinky, clinky clanky, new from Sentrax, Tiny Tank! Americas lovable..."
"Wait wait wait wait wait. Is that my theme song?"
"Well, it hasn't been finalised yet."
"Wanky wanky, tinky tanky, what the F*** is that?"
"You're being difficult"
"You're being a ****** ****"

Either Spiderman or Crash Team Racing for the PS1. Those or all of the Jak and Daxter games if you consider them old enough, because I think the PS2 should now be considered old.

Diablo II, it still pwns.
This as well as Serious Sam and the original DOOM...although I don't think Serious Sam is old enough.

Edit: Almost forgot about System Shock 2 and the original Fallout. They're amazing as well.

Geneforge. That's ALL that needs saying.
You, sir, have awesome tastes.

Also, Fallout 1 & 2 are some of my favorite games even if their graphics are quite outdated nowadays.

007 Goldeneye was awesome
Civilization: Call to Power, it has a soft spot in my heart for introducing me to strategy games

How do you mention the quest games, but leave off Quest for Glory(So you want to be a hero?)? That one had great comedy and references all through it, and each of the series linked to the next so you could continue to progress your character through them.

Also well up there:
Fallout 1&2
Baldurs Gate
Planescape: Torment
Freelancer
Sacrifice(great 3rd person/rts, you choose your faction each mission and it shifts your story)
Swords and Serpents

My money's on Railroad Tycoon 2 (from 1998, and still best in the franchise---get it on Steam for cheap.)
