That is hands down my favourite car of all time, I dont care if there's anything around faster/cheaper/more reliable, there is just something about it (probably everything) that I just love. I would want two though, one stock and one rally-tuned with a completely unlocked/customisable computer.

I believe that's one of the GTR variants of the McLaren F1, modified for use in motorsport after the short-term banning of prototype sports cars in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Interestingly, FIA GT restrictions meant that the GTR variant actually had less power than the road-going version and a lower top speed, but because of different gearing, it accelerated more quickly and was quicker as a racing car.

That variant was a winner at Le Mans, beating out faster, purpose-built prototypes, despite being only slightly modified from road-car specifications. I think that's an interesting note of just how quick it was from stock.

Didn't they only release it as a road car so it would fit the bill for certain races or something? They only made the bare minimum necessary so it could be classed as a road car.
Either way, I think the road going version is a much more attractive car but then I guess that's the point.
