Yoshi, it's a shoe wearing dinosaur that can shoot fireballs, watermelon seeds, and ice. Occasionally, (frequently) it'll eat enemies and turn them into eggs. He also has a flutter kick. Adorable and weird.

So I'll pick another, since mine's been taken. Magus from Chrono Trigger, when I found out he was playable, my joy reached its peak.

My favorite video game character is Yuna from Final Fantasy X-2. She's charming, kind, perky(but not too perky), and the game handles her development as a person so well that by the end of it, I felt like I watched her grow from a timid, submissive girl into an intelligent, confident young woman. I was so proud of her once the game ended that I may or may not have cried a little.

I'd say Andrew Ryan from Bioshock for obvious reasons.


And Legion from Mass Effect 2 gets special mention. Speaking of Legion, I think it was in a thread here on the Escapist forum but somebody gave the speculation that when you handed him to Cerberus instead of activating him yourself, he might return in ME3 as a Cerberus modified Over 9000 Shepard decimator machine. Boy am I glad he's on my side (I hope).

The Boss from Saints Row 2 (the player character). Because Volition went to the trouble of crafting a personality for a character that makes none of their actions seem out of place for them. He/she is pretty much you when you play games like this, a sadistic amoral psychopath with no respect for human life or decency, doing whatever they want for fun with no regard for the consequences that might entail for anyone else.
And I wouldn't have it any other way.

Favorite character ever? Wow that's pretty tough. Let me think let me think...

Snake is in the running. Preferably the Naked variety (interpret that as you will).
Yoshimitsu is ridiculous and awesome, but I doubt favorite of all time.

I KNOW there are so many side characters I love that I can't think of at the moment. Sully from Uncharted was always great.

Ok I give up. I'll keep thinking about it though.
