Your favorite comic book/series

Just thought it'd be interesting to see what comics people here on The Escapist like. I'm more interested in western comics with this specific thread, but if you only read manga then feel free to just put down your favorite manga series.

Me, I have grown to really love Mike Mignola's Hellboy series. I enjoyed the movies, but the comics are so much better. It's like if you combined H.P. Lovecraft's lore and aesthetic, a ridiculous amount of folk lore, quite a few historical characters (as well as some crazy ass made up nazis), and the general awesomeness of the comic medium all into one package. Top it off with an interesting art style, and, of course, a well made main cast whose backstories are big time mysterious and intriguing. All in all, you're looking at one hell of a good time.

My favorite series?

Definantley Neil Gaimans Sandman series, everything about it I love. From the narrative, the characters, the art, and dont get me started on the plot.

But for ongoing series I have lately I been drifting towards some lighter in tone, like Chew and Marvels Hercules. Also have a taste for Horror mangas, my favorite of those being Uzumaki and Franken Fran coming in a close second.

...well... the only comic book i kinda've read is... sonic the hedgehog comics... i started reading them when i was young read them all the way till i was 14 i got a stack 3/4 tall as my laptop monitor, not sure why i read them... i mainly am a manga guy i read the one piece mangas and thats about it except for some other mangas.

My favorite series is, after much thought about it, Daredevil. Great characters, great stories, What more do you need? For me, it's the combination of various elements that make it more enjoyable.

My other choices:
Batman has told some of my all-time favorite comic stories, such as Long Halloween and Hush.

Green Lantern has been on a roll these past few years, from Sinestro Corp War, Blackest Night and Brightest Day. Blackest Night is so far the only event I decided not waiting to buy in TPB (A choice my wallet regretted later...), so that counts for something.

Hulk has also been doing good, but I've fallen WAY behind on that one...

Favorite Manga: One Piece. No f***ing contest.
