I realize this probably has been done before but when I searched, there wasn't anything very recent. I decided make this thread because my favorite director recently changed from Quinten Tarantino to Christopher Nolan. I have watched all of Nolan's movies and enjoyed them all thoroughly (Inception and Dark Knight being my favorites).
Anyway, what is everyone else's favorite?

It is either Christopher Nolan for Inception and Dark Knight or Neil Marshall for Doomsday. (Haven't seen his other films yet)

Nolan's pretty good.

Only one film I didn't like and that was Insomnia.

Tarantino's always gonna be my pick though. No movie that I didn't like.

Well, except Jackie Brown. That wasn't bad, just not that great.

And you always gotta love Scorcese...even despite The Age of Innocence.

Nolan, Jonze, Tarantino, The Coens, Wes Anderson, Guy Ritchie, Mathew Vaughn, David Fincher, Guillermo del Toro and Gilliam. I can't decide!

Stanley Kubrick is my all time favorite; I like Francis Ford Coppala (his latest movie was amazing); Alex Gibney is a very good documentary filmmaker; Jean Luc Goddard is a brilliant french comedy director that I highly recommend; I usually condemn people for saying something like this, but you honestly can't be a filmmaker/film buff without seeing one of Federico Fellini's films.

I can't just pick one. I love Tarantino, Scorsese, Eastwood, Wes Anderson, Nolan, Fincher, and Kubrick. They all make amazing movies.

Nolan, Tarantino, and Rodriguez are my favorite directors, though they're not the directors I call the GREATEST

Guillermo del Toro for movies like Pan's Labrynth and Hellboy 1 and 2.

Peter Jackson for the LOTR Trilogy and all of his awesomely fun B movies.

Quentin Tarantino for everything but Jackie Brown and Deathproof.

Oh and of course Alfred Hitchcock.

And George A. Romero!

It's so hard to choose just one :/

Joel Coen (The Coen Brothers) although The Ladykillers was unneccesary and intolerable Cruelty was only OK. There are plenty of others but I think the brothers would be my favorite. I'll be keeping and eye on Edgar Wright though and I've like Guillermo Del Toro since Cronos, I even liked Mimic and Blade 2 (although if Blade 2 hadn't had Ron Perlman I don't think I would have liked it at all)..
