I admit I am not a big fan of golf. There are many things I would do before I would sit through watching golf on TV. However, I love the Mario Golf and Hot Shots Golf series. I'm already excited about the Mario Golf game coming in 2014 and will probably get the HSG game on Vita when I finally acquire one.

Mario Golf Advance on GBA is likely the one I have pumped the most time into. I loved the RPG elements in that game such as walking around the club house and improving your character's stats. It was insanely addictive. I love how these cutesy golf games are funner to play and have more depth than Tiger Woods will ever have.

The only golf game I can tolerate is the Wii Sports one. I'd rather just go out and play the real thing. Sports video games have little to no appeal to me.

A lot of people (at least the ones I've spoken to) overlooked this, but I loved playing Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour on the Gamecube. It had a great variation of courses and a large number of characters that all played differently.

Also, it's the only game that I know of where Shadow Mario [http://www.mariowiki.com/Shadow_Mario] is a playable character.

I haven't played many golf games, but Mario Golf on the Gameboy Color is the one I did invest a lot of time into. If I remember correctly, I had even learned how to get one of my character to have a hole-in-one on every hole on one of the courses (including the Par-5 ones). Of course, beating Mario in this game was always a pain, but his course was arguably the best after Gene Yuss's. Yes, I preferred the hard courses in that game, except the desert one.

While not a traditional golf game, it features almost all the mechanics of one, I'm gonna have to go with Pangolin for the iOS.

The game isn't usually in German, but this was the best gameplay video I could find lol

Golf is lame. The real kids hang out with mini golf. Wonderputt is a fun free online game, and I get a stupid amount of fun with 3d Minigolf adventures or whatever it is on 360. Playing that with 4 people is insanely stupid and hilarious.

Can I pick regular golf? Because while not a videogame, it's still a game.

And yeah I really like golf. Haven't played it a lot sadly but when I did I found it very relaxing. The things I like about golf aren't really present in videogame representations of it so I'll go for the original.

Except putting. Fuck putting.

I played a ton of the Mario Golf game on the 64, although it was mostly for the putt-putt portion of the game.

Hot Shot Golf Open Tee and Hot Shots Golf Out of Bounds. Tone, ease of play, fun factor and specials make theese games something rather special for me.

Other than that I played Leaderboard gold on Coomodore 64 and PGA Tour Gold on 286 PC quite a bit. Bith much more serious games, but then again, tehre was no plain fun golf games back then.

There is this golf game that you buy...and it plugs right into your TV. It has this big track ball that you roll, and you can control how you hit, what spin you put on the ball etc with it. It's a blast to play with friends. No clue what it's called....but it's based on an arcade game I guess (from the box).

It's the most fun I've had with a gold game. The Wii golf games where ok..but the controls were not as good. You can really control your puts with that track/spinning ball...and there is a high level of skill involved. Huge difference between what a skilled player can do, and just someone who has picked up the game for the first time.

Wow... a lot of diversity. Good question OP.

My favourite was Wicked 18 on the SNES. The idea being that you had normal golf with a ridiculous course.
The runner-up has to be Outlaw Golf just for zaniness.

I actually got REALLY into one of the Tiger Wood's games on PS2 with my dad for awhile.
The character creation is ridiculous, and once I got the hang of it and started winning, upgrading my gear and buying perks started triggering old familiar pleasure switches from RPG's and whatnot.

Second to that would be Kirby's Dream Course. I remember the first time I tried it thinking I'd just give it a small shot then never play it again. 5 hours later....
