The books are ok.. tobad it got a bit to much Detail in it.. but still.. not a bad book.. But the movies sucked.. come on.. It got over rated.. Just like Twighlight.. I injoy star wars better becaus it was a Nice Si-Fi Action adventure... I think Lotr could of done a bit more.. And Most ppl dont Like wha i got to say here -_- I dont mind.. Becaus its hard to admit you got riped off by a movie you paid so much for to see it..

This coming from a user who's name is dracula backwards. So really, a great spark of originality and a sense for epic story is not really found in you.
2 points. 1. you can tell a great deal about a person from their name. the anime basis of your name doesn't help your claims of my being a fanboy. 2. how exactly did I get ripped off by the films? They were filled to the brim with content, epic choreography, huge ass fight scenes. Romantic sub plots, tales of gallantry, valour, betrayal etc etc. In no way does it rip one off, you just don't appreciate it.
Well.. i got it from castlevania.. and not the anime.. You having the lack of know how about the Orgin of the Name alucard is already funny... haha.. Tells me alot about you..
And "ontent, epic choreography, huge ass fight scenes. Romantic sub plots, tales of gallantry, valour, betrayal" o_O Plz give me the name of that ring movie.. I think i missed that one.. is it better then the other Trilogy? btw.. Stop being a fan boy plz... -_- Your wasting my time ok..

I like the very beginning of The Fellowship, where the men and elves defeat Sauron.

1. taking a name from another thing instead of coming up with it yourself is where I drew my point, it's origins matter not but the fact that you weren't original enough to come up with your own was the point.
2. "o_O Plz give me the name of that ring movie.. I think i missed that one.. is it better then the other Trilogy?" this sentence doesn't make any sense, you don't actually try to debunk my statement that the films were bursting with content but instead all you say is what appears to be sarcasm. Really? You're gonna go that hypocritical on me as to tell my to come up with better arguments and not bother to argue a point yourself? I smell troll.
Come on o_O You think im gonne waste that much Energie of some NerdRage Fan boy -_- Come on.. Give me a break.. and yea.. So wha its a troll. o_O whay you gonne do about it.. If you dident like my Opinion about the movies.. its your own damn problem o_O.. I dident like the movies.. end of story... Maby If he makes another trilogy of the way back with some real action in it and a nice plot in it.. il watch it o_O Other then that.. no.. Now do me a favor dont Reply on this.. This is going no where :( Be a big boy..

Mainly the orcs bits. They have great dialogue
for example
'What is it that you smell?' 'MAN FLESH'
or 'GET A FIRE GOING' *Note this is hilarious to shout out at festival campsites! And if said fire is agreed upon use another one of my favourite LOTR qoutes 'Bring wood and oil' to fish the job

So quotable

I don't know why, but I really like when Saruman starts ripping down the trees in his crib. (couldn't think of a better word)

Build me an army worthy of Mordor.

That bit.

I just love that speech, everything about it. It's just so heartwarming and hopeful. Absolutely perfect.
This is a contender for me, but the most heart wrenching scene for me, short of the very end at the grey havens, is Pippin's song and the suicidal charge of the knights of Minas Tirith in Return of the King.

I'm not ashamed to admit I had tears in my eyes when I first watched it in the movies.
That's OK, I'm getting all teary-eyed watching most of these scenes right now.
Damn, you aren't the only one.

Also, the Battle of Pelennor Fields, the stand at the Black Gates, the Balrog showdown, and mostly every scene with Galadriel. LoTR is just one of those trilogies that is plain awesome and emotionally moving at the same time. Especially the Extended Editions.

Mate, you should have just stopped at your opinion there. Now you are really trolling for no other reason than to troll. If you have nothing productive to say, don't say anything.

any time when Legolas returns elves to their former glory. you see, elves were originally very badass(I can't remember which mythology they belonged to, but they were essentially grim reapers) then they spent some time in Santa's workshop and everyone forgets all that came before.

P.S. Is it not sad that LOTR is the only good book-to-movie adaptation on earth still to this day? I pray that the hobbit will be like the LOTR movies.
Ever heard of One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest, The Godfather, The Shining, Fight Club, Jurassic Park and probably heaps more?

OT: Legolas B.A.M.F scene as shown earlier.

"Fly you fools" meaning you should have taken the eagles to Mordor as "you don't simply walk into Mordor" you fly!

When the Dead Men of Dunharrow come rushing out of the boat behind Aragorn and start destroying everything in sight, then a couple minutes into the battle in the background you can see The Dead taking over an oliphaunt and bringing it down in seconds. Its hilarious.

On a more serious note I love the whole Boromir scene where he defends Merry and Pippin. I literally screamed "SCREW YOU ORC!" When he shot Boromir, then when Aragorn lopped off his head I gave him a standing ovation.

"They've taken the little ones!"

When the elf threw the dwarf.

Or when Sam was caught listening in on Gandalf and Frodo's conversation at the beginning of Fellowship.
