Mine would have to be X, for SNES.
I can't count how many times I rented that game from Blockbuster.
The dash mechanic, the upgrades, and the bosses were awesome. Challenging too.

Kill me for this...But...

Megaman Battle Network.

I'd pick BN3, overall.

The "Style" system was sweeeeeet.

I've only played 2 and 10, but 10 kicked my ass so far into next week, it went so many weeks I don't think I've caught up yet.

So yeah, I liked Mega Man 2 more. It had better music too.

I've played all the classics, all the Battle Network games, but none of the X games. So I'll pick my favorite from the two sets I've played. Megaman 2 for the classic, and 3 from the Battle Network games.

Probably Mega Man Zero. It's got to be one of the few where you actually feel like you're this death-wielding robot. Plus, to boot, you're playing in a post-apocalyptic setting against an all-powerful reploid-enforced world dictatorship run by a self-proclaimed savior. It's pretty cool.

From the series where you actually play as Megaman instead of against him... I'll go with Megaman III. It had the slide, it had Protoman, it had two sets of bosses and it was quite hard.

Most womanly man character in a game, ever.
I went 10 years thinking he was a chick before I looked at the wiki.

Oh, yeah. He's got a floor-length ponytail, so I can see why you'd think that. At least he doesn't stand around and emo and whine like half the RPG protagonists these days. I just hope he doesn't go through a Zero: Other Z remake where we have listen to his inner monologue of self-doubt and dependence.

Between X and X4. Although I liked the music from X best of any megaman game, but owning crap with zero in X4 was damn fun too.

MM4. I've played the majority but that was my very first, introducing Mega Buster among other new things. It also had the best difficulty-balancing of any of the NES games- no cheap shots, just some very hard bosses towards the end.
