I totally recommend Mysterious Universe. Every week there is a free 1 1/2 to 2 hour podcast covering the weeks paranormal, supernatural and cryptozoological news. Hosted by Benjamin Grundy and Aaron Wright, usually, this free podcast is followed up with Premium member content for a paid subscription, called a Plus Membership. I find they push the Plus thing a bit hard in the free podcast, but at the same time the content at MU is often worth it if you like fantastic conspiracies, UFO sightings, haunted house anecdotes, mythology, or bigfoot debunkings (don't get fooled by the subject matter, Ben and Aaron are not without their skepticisms!)

EDIT: Oh, I didn't consider that this might be a thread for Podcasts about games and gaming... sorry!
No need for it to be just about gaming. I put the thread in the off-topic section because I was hoping for a diverse range of topics :)

I listen to a bunch of podcasts, the history of rome has stopped, but is still so worth listening to it still deserves to be mentioned, the others are still active. Sorted by category:
gaming: the escapist podcasts,
history: the history of rome, revolutions, dan carlins hardcore history (very long episodes, ideal for transatlantic flights..)
comedy:mybrothermybrotherandme, the bugle, caustic soda (very gory, each week they take a subject and what can go horrebly wrong with it), the complete guide to everything, judge john hodgeman
science:the escapist science podcast, the skeptics guide to the universe, startalk, the naked scientist, science friday, skeptoid.
not fitting other categories: radiolab, tedtalks ,freakonomics, sawbones.

I'm new into the podcast scene. the only two podcasts I listen to are My brother, My Brother, and Me (previously explained) and "Stuff you should know" Which is an hour long podcast about random interesting topics. The two people have good chemistry and you can learn some a whole bunch of interesting things.

I like The Pizza Party Podcast... because it made out of a diverse cast talking about diverse topics that more or less have something to do with "cartoons" somehow...

Other than that, I got nothing... I can't seem to commit to a podcast, anyway... despite wanting to listen to the ones I know exist...

Some good ones already listed so I'll only put ones I haven't seen thus far.

For comedy I enjoy: Comedy Bang Bang (a mixed bag which includes some of the funniest things I have ever heard and some of the dumbest), The Smartest Man in the World (Greg Proops talks to a live audience and the listener - includes a "boring preachy part"), and Harmontown (Dan Harmon and friends discuss life, the entertainment industry, and then play their DnD campaign)

Science: The Infinite Monkey Cage (comedians and scientist discuss science topics in a panel)

Biblical Studies: The Bible Geek (warning: if you are religious of the christian variety this might not be a good one to listen too as it often deals with the construction of different books and passages in the bible and how theology evolved through scripture).

I used to be a huge fan of the casual yet professional movie review/podcast website Spill when that was around. Since the site went tits up the former cast has spread out and are running their own shows, most of which are worth a listen, but none of which really live up to how good they were when they were together :-/

The best one of the bunch is probably Rage Select, I really enjoy their podcast.

I've also become a fan of Rooster Teeth as of late. I've found myself really gravitating towards podcasts with their roots in geek stuff, but that take a more casual approach to it, rather than a journalistic one.

My main gaming podcast is The GAP (formerly The Game Arena Podcast), an Australian podcast that I listen to mainly because it's a spiritual successor to my beloved Australian Gamer podcast. It's pretty long, with most episodes clocking in at around 2-3 hours every week, but the hosts have pretty good banter and they can usually cover a lot of topics in the time. Plus, they're pretty funny buggers; they've got a good nerd/frat-boy style similar to Rooster Teeth, except better because they're not American hicks. The best one is Joaby, an entertainingly caustic games journo who I'd almost go so far as to call the Australian Jim Sterling, except for the fact that he seems to hate Jim Sterling.

That said, you should probably give it a miss if you're not a fan of at least one of the 3 Ds: Dark Souls, Day Z and DOTA. That's because the other main hosts, Junglist, Heath & Luke respectively are insanely into those three games and for most episodes, anecdotes about them will take up to an hour of the running time. Come to think of it, you're better off avoiding it entirely if you're not into Dark Souls, since Junglist isn't as good as the others at making his favourite series sound interesting.

Apart from that, I also like the Hamish & Andy podcast (natch). I'd love to branch out into other podcasts, preferably ones with a bit more intellectual substance, but so far my commute isn't long enough to justify it.

Welcome to Night Vale, primarily. Occasionally also the RoosterTeeth podcast, though usually only if it happens to be on and I have nothing else to do - an hour and a half is just a lot of time to willingly sink into listening to people talk about stuff. WTNV is a much nicer length, more interesting, and I can listen to it while sitting in bed and just fall asleep to it, which is actually kind of nice. It's a solid dose of weird to end the day on.

The regular gaming ones I tend to keep up with are Cagcast [http://podbay.fm/show/78311760], Giant Bombcast [http://www.giantbomb.com/podcasts/] and 8-4 play [http://www.giantbomb.com/podcasts/eight-four-play/].

As for occasional miscellaneous ones I like Uninformed Opinions and I'm currently trying out Fist Shark Marketing and My Brother, My Brother and Me. I haven't decided if I'll keep going with them.

Oh and Comedy Bang Bang is great, sometimes dangerously funny or just outright silly really. EJ has said it best:

It's so very true.

I like to multi-task so I tend to have some audio going on the background, plus it's handy when I play a game that requires lots of grinding or has bad music.

I listen to Super Best Friendcast, the most hilarious, friendly, and fact checking free gaming podcast on the internet.

(They do check their facts, that was a joke.)

[a href="http://tcgte.com/"]The Complete Guide to Everything[/a] It's a comedy podcast. in they're own words "A weekly podcast that hopes to vanquish Wikipedia as the go-to reference for knowledge about anything and everything. From North Korea to Nicolas Cage, Tim Daniels and Tom Reynolds leave no stone unturned in their humble quest to make the world a more informed place."

[a href="http://thatguywiththeglasses.com/podcasts/3rd"]Nerd to the Third Power[/a] A podcast featured on ThatGuyWiththeGlasses, basically a hodgepodge of nerdy people, each representing a different medium within nerd culture, talking about nerdy things. They're somewhat awkward, but endearing.

I could list others, but you guys probably know about them already since they aren't too obscure.

The Co-Optional Podcast is pretty much the only podcast I actively watch. I'm actually curious about checking out new podcasts though, so if anybody could recommend me a podcast with a similar style and as energetic personalities as that, then I'd appreciate it.
