I can't decide between Bowser in the Paper Mario series or Fawful from Mario and Luigi. You know what? Fawful. Not only funny, but insanely entertaining.

Uh...pretty sure ALL villains fail in the end. If not, RPGs wouldn't be too fun to play, because none of them would be winnable. :)

For my pick, I pick Saturo, Menardi, and Alex from the Golden Sun series.
Errr, no offense, but I think you missed my point a little. Yes, obviously they should fail in the end...but from a story standpoint...he achieved godhood and lost. I get that he had to lose...but again, from a pure plot standpoint, it's kinda pathetic.

On another note, I like your choices.
well, a LOT of JRPG final bosses 'claim god hood', these people are also ego manics....
also, you had smaller teams beat the 3 former goddesses before hand, no longer full goddesses I'll grant you, but i imagine still far more then any mortal should be able to handle, so why would it be a stretch to assume, that if the group separate could handle 'near god like beings' that they couldn't handle a full god together?

anyway >.>
OT:
Kefka
Magus
Queen Zeal
most all the villains from Asura's Wrath (for actually having a point to being dicks)
Kain (Legacy of Kain)
Fu-Lou
Eve (Parasite Eve)
